11 dpt test too soon?

Today is day 11 following my embryo transfer where I had 2 embryos transferred that hadn’t quite made it to blastocyst stage.

I was surprised when my clinic set today as my test date as previously they’ve advised to test on day 13/14.

This is my 3rd ivf cycle and I’ve been feeling really optimistic as I felt nothing during the 2ww in my previous cycles but this time I’ve had real achy breasts, headaches, tiredness, nausea and I had some brown spotting on days 8 and 9.

Given that my embryos were a little behind at transfer, is day 11 too soon?! I have tested today and it was negative but I can’t help feel it’s too soon.

I may be clutching at straws but I wondered what everyone else’s thoughts were or if anyone else had tested this soon but later got a positive result?

Thank you for reading this.

Hi, I tested on day 9 and got a bfp so I don't think it's to soon but maybe they implanted late so try testing again in two days, blood hcg test is the most accurate way of finding out if you can get it done, I wish you all the best

Thank you for your response and congratulations on your bfp.

I’ve contacted my clinic and they’ve said that it’s entirely up to me if I want to continue the progesterone and test again on Saturday.

I’ve come this far and have nothing to lose so I think that’s what I’ll do.

Thank you, I would definitely continue with the meds until you test on Saturday and use your first morning urine on a sensitive test

Hello,

Unfortunately, 11 days would give an accurate result. 9dp5dt is equivalent to the day of your missed period so 11dp5dt would be 2 days passed your missed period and therefore a line would be there, fairly dark aswell on an early test.

There are stories of 'late implanters' so hopefully this is the case for you! I would protect your heart at this point <3 Good luck - baby dust to you.

Thank you Tryingforbabynow for your comments.

It is difficult to stay optimistic but also to protect yourself during all of this isn’t it.

If I hadn’t had the spotting on days 8 and 9, or if it had continued into a bleed, then I would have accepted the bfn yesterday but I feel like I would regret not seeing it out ‘just in case’ as we’ve been behind the norm during the whole of this process…….

I’m expecting a bfn Saturday but need peace of mind.

Appreciate the baby dust 😊

I agree. Carry on and test again in a couple of days for peace of mind. X
