Natural cycle FET, my follicles are only 11mm on Day 16

Hi everyone,

I'd love to hear from anyone who has done a natural cycle FET on how the whole process went.

- How long is your average cycle?

- How did your clinic decide the transfer day?

We've decided to transfer our frozen embryo stored overseas this month, in a natural cycle, and I flew out and had the first scan this morning.

It's Day 16 in average 35 day cycle, and the biggest follicles were only 11mm in both ovaries - there was no dominant follicle yet.

The doctor told me to come back on Thursday (Day 19) for another scan and progesterone test, then I was shocked to hear her say if they don't see a dominant follicle of 14mm or bigger then, we might have to cancel the cycle?!

My last natural cycle was 40 day long, I probably only ovulated on Day 24-26, I feel it would be unfair to not wait for my follicles to catch up.

Any story would be much appreciated!

Hi konyaga. I think they are concerned that if you don’t ovulate, then you won’t have a corpus luteum to produce natural progesterone to build up your womb lining. Hopefully, a few more days will improve follicle size. Good luck. Diane
