I wanted to share my goodish news and hope it doesn’t upset anyone or come across as over confident. I say “goodish” because I’m aware we’ve still got a long way to go. My partner and I are having ICSI at the moment after trying to conceive for 3 years. We did our egg retrieval this week. They collected 22 eggs and 19 of them fertilised on day one and all are doing really well (day three update with a minimum of 6 cells each). I didn’t take the call today but my partner said that she said they are all top grade and the next level down (I don’t really understand the way they grade them). She said we should be able to do a transfer on Sunday providing I don’t develop OHSS. I’ve been eating decent amounts of protein and drinking lots of fluid so I think I I will be fit and well. Praying the embryos all keep doing well and feeling very relieved 😅. Does anyone have any tips for transfer day or the two week wait?

A positive journey so far, awaiting transfer on Sunday!
Thats wonderful news, it’s good to feel positive ✨
There are a lot of old wives tales when it comes to what we should and shouldn’t do post transfer, I tried many but really, it comes down to the little embryo! The few things I did consistently stick with on transfer day was eating McDonalds fries post transfer (😂) and keeping my feet warm (warm feet = warm uterus!) but other than that, I stuck with my medication and took it easy. I also found it comforting to lay still after transfer for an extra 20 minutes without rushing to get up, so if you’re able to, ask your clinic if you can do that. They say you don’t need to do that, the embryo won’t fall out but mentally, I felt better for having that little extra time!
For the TWW, I was gentle with myself. I took myself out for a walk through the park every day, I ate well (lots of salmon, eggs, avocado style foods) and drank 3L of water. I kept my mind busy with books and Netflix shows I wanted to catch up on! And I tried not to symptom spot because progesterone response can mimic early signs of pregnancy so it’s really hard to know until you’ve taken your test on the day your clinic has advised.
Best of luck to you 🤞🏻 xx
Thanks for this response, it’s really helpful ❤️. I could definitely get on board with the fries idea 😂. It’s ridiculous, I have this mild fear that if I push too hard on the loo that it might fall out but I tend to think it’s either going to stick or it’s not and there is little point over analysing it.
That is a great number of embryos, I hope you end up with lots of lovely blastocysts.
I would say relax as much as possible, taking it easy but not bed rest I.e keep mobile with not too much exertion. Low caffeine and no alcohol. I think really the same diet you have probably been doing for your cycle 😊
Wishing you lots of luck for your transfer day and have a great 2 week wait.
best of luck fingers crossed
