Fresh versus Frozen ET & implantation issues

Hi All, first time posting myself here. My partner and I are planning to start our 4th ICSI round in the next month or two. For context, I'm 41 in November, no fertility medical issues myself apart from age now and BMI of 31. It's a male factor infertility due to poor morphology, motility and number. Had 6 embryos transferred in total over the previous 3 rounds via fresh transfers, but not one has taken so each time BFNs. My womb lining has always been good. Would opting for frozen ET be a better option? Also, any other advice for improving chances of implantation would be much appreciated. Thank you all.

Hi TTC. That’s always an option. Have you had your Fallopian tubes checked so there’s no danger of excess lubrication leaking into your womb and possibly preventing a developing embryo from implanting? Also a hysteroscopy to check out your womb. I’m sure other ladies will have ideas. Good luck. Diane

Hi Diane thanks for your response. We are considering a hysteroscopy for the next round. Will look into the fallopian tubes tests too. I've always had regular, light periods with very little pain and no other symptoms so never considered any issues like that before, but will certainly consider these suggestions! Many thanks

Hi. Blocked tubes don’t affect periods. They’re governed by hormones. Diane

Hi. The menstrual cycle is governed by hormones. The Fallopian tubes allow the egg to travel down and sperm to swim up to meet the egg. Diane

Oh I misunderstood what you'd written! I was wondering what information there might be for causes and symptoms of blocked fallopian tubes.

Hi. Causes of blocked tubes is down to infection eg chlamydia and pelvic inflammatory disease and possible scarring from surgery. No symptoms really just infertility unfortunately. Diane

Thanks Diane. My fertility clinics have never suggested this before for the recurrent implantation failures. I'll definitely speak to them to see what they say about looking into it.

Hi Nabsal, thanks for highlighting the benefits of supplements. Not heard of Proxeed so will check these out. I've been on ubuquinol, omega 3, pregnaplan etc, and partner on Wellman tablets and Impryl for a year all suggested by fertility clinic. Sperm quality is definitely the huge issue with us unfortunately 😔

No embryo testing so far (NHS didn't offer this with first two rounds anyway), but might consider if we get enough embryos next round. Had several semem tests but not sure about DNA fragmentation. Will double check! Thanks so much for your response 👍🏽 and all the best to you too

Hi lovely, I can understand your pain. I'm 31, we've done two ICSI cycles due to low sperm count, motility and morphology. Transferred 7 embryos over 6 transfers, most of them frozen transfers and the last two were PGTA tested. Had every investigation going but all normal 🤷 Our clinic suggested PGTA after our first 4 fails, might be worth doing for you? Higher rates of aneuploidy with higher maternal age unfortunately so that may be a factor. I'd also ask to try a frozen cycle as it gives time for your body to recover. Wishing you lots of luck xx

Thanks so much for responding. It's so frustrating isn't it. Will consider the PGTA testing if we get enough embryos. We're doing immunes testing this time too to cover more bases. Hopefully this will all help but I guess we'll see soon enough. All the best to you too!
