Transfer Day! Please share Do’s and Don’ts following FET

I’m getting ready for FET in a couple of hours. Trying to stay positive and hopeful but it’s so hard after 2 failed transfers and 1 miscarriage.

Please share your thoughts on the things to do and eat and those not to.

Please share your positive energy and wishes. It’s my last chance of becoming a mother.

These are the superstitions -

McDonald’s fries post transfer

Pineapple - I heard you’re meant to take the skin off a pineapple and cut it into 5 slices and have 1 each day before transfer.

Try to do some gentle walking during the day before and after transfer.

I’d say generally just try to have a nice day. Maybe go out for lunch or something, depending on when your transfer is!

Wishing you loads and loads of good luck!

Thank you so much 😊

I have done a fertility yoga (simple poses) and will add some gentle walks too.

Hi Bluelife, wishing you all the best of luck. I hope everything goes perfectly today and after this!

Just take one day at a time and do what you feel comfortable with, the doctor told me I could resume normal activity apart from strenuous exercise and hot baths, they even advised I could start running again after a few days (never found the courage). Their logic is that it would be too early to know you’re pregnant under normal circumstances, so people who fall pregnant naturally would just continue doing everything as usual.

In my case given the transfer was late in the PM , I walked back home and i just rested after that. I worked from home the next day and went into the office 2 days after and following weeks (I’ve read else where they can sign you off if too stressful). I’m fairly active, so I did loads of walking to help with the stress, plus I read is good for circulation. Try to find what works best for you and find any hobbies that help to distract your mind from the waiting. Don’t try too read too much into symptoms x

Urban myths: i did eat chips ( they weren’t McDonald’s but I made sure to put loads of salt on them haha , I also ate the famous pineapple , I think the core is the important bit haha

Sending you loads of luck and positive vibes xx

Thank you Hopewhite. Transfer done late am and I went to McDonald’s for fries, hehe. Fourth transfer but first time having fries after transfer.

I will get some pineapple tomorrow, guess no harm in eating that.

Now wait for two weeks and trying to relax.

Just wanted to wish you luck! I’m in my 2ww too, hoping for a sibling for my boy who was a frostie from same batch 4 years ago.

There is no avoiding the 2ww crazies. I’ve already stressed myself out that I’ve been awake half the night worrying. But then looking back on my successful transfer I realised that I barely slept then too. As above poster mentioned, I had McDonald’s chips 🤣 (I forgot to have pineapple last time but it still worked!) Hope you are doing okay xxx

Thank you and wish you good luck too.

The Tww is the hardest in this journey but let’s do it together one day at the time.

Relax and rest whenever your body ask for it. Sending you all the positive vibes.

Thank you ☺️ it definitely is a difficult wait (understatement). When is your official test day? Mine is 4th September xx

Mine is 7th September. I don’t know if I can wait until then without any testing.

Hi just wondering how it went. Care to share some good news?

Hi, unfortunately I don’t have any good news. I’ve got another BFN. It was my last embryo and we are devastated. My partner and I feeling so sad. This has affected our relationship as he really wants to have kids and he may have it with someone else.

When I feel less emotional, I will post something. I’ve got many questions.

Apologies for sharing sad news.

My dear no need to apologize. I'm so sorry about the negative result. Take care of yourself now. Take time to pamper yourself.

I was watching a doctor from Harvard on YouTube ( the egg whisper lol) and recommended for the next 2-3 days from transfer( including the transfer day) have turns from bed, to sofa, to chair, to bed…. And not any other exercise. She does mention the pineapple core as it has some ant inflammatory properties though

I did have my portion of Mc Donald’s chips… but in fairness is the salt that apparently helps. Good luck!
