Hi is there anyone in this community that is taking thyroid medication while trying to conceive or doing any form of IVF? My labs are checked regular and getting optimal along with vitamin levels. I only take Levo at the moment but considering T3 to optimise.
I have read that taking T3 meds can be bad during/for pregnancy but read lots of woman have taken it for a long time?
Anyone have any insight? Thank you x

Hi Melody79, I was given levo thyroxine in the third trimester, but no experience with T3. I think you could also try to post in the Thyroid UK group as there are lots of knowledgeable people there who are always willing to help 💕
Hi Melody, I am taking t3 and and levo and ttc too. My endo says that your levels should be low as the t3 also crosses the placenta etc but my functional medicine dr says it needs to as your body isn’t making it! I’m stuck too. I would love to know this exact thing too. Such conflicting advice!!!
hi, thank you for replying. Yes, I'm not sure?!? I would say if levels aren't good enough and T3 is needed this should be a good thing if ttc..I have read a lot of women take T3 and are or ttc and all ok but again hard to know for sure when dr's tell you different things.
Yep, am on Levothyroxine - as my levels are fine through blood test monitoring am not changing anything as don't want to add anything to the mix that will upset my hormones further. If you started something additional then you might be recommended to allow time for things to "settle down" before trying to conceive so might delay things.
