Measuring 5 days behind IVF Pregnancy

Hi Lovelies 🥰

I had my first scan y'day and I am measuring 6 weeks 1 day however, I should be 6 weeks 6 days 😌

Can anyone please share any similar stories? Thank you ❤️❣️ xx

I measured behind at my 7 week scan with both my pregnancies. Embryos are so small at 7 weeks it's really difficult to accurately measure

I was the same. Measured 6+2 at 6+6. The embryos so small that it’s hard to measure accurately. All worked out fine for us!

we did an extra scan at 9 weeks and he was measuring on the dot then, was a couple of days ahead at 12 weeks and then was average post 20weeks! I think at 6 or 7 weeks they’re like 6mm long so it’s really easy to be out by 0.5mm and get a different gestational age.

Aww that's so reassuring, thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate it as I kind of feel in limbo. The nurse really scared me - she said it could be detrimental being 5 days behind xx

Hi Ker-bear.Another sonographer might get it spot on. I don’t think you need to worry too much at the moment as early embryos have a habit of catching up. Good luck. Diane

Hi, I had my scan on Thursday and am similar, I thought I was 6+3 but I was 5+6, the nurse/doctor didn’t seemed concerned as it’s such a small difference. They said it will be monitored and if I want to book a private scan I can but they advised to wait another two weeks, as growth would be more comparable and easier to see. I hope all is ok!🤎

Hi Novbby, thank you for sharing your story. It is such an agonising time. I have had 5 failed cycles, this is the first time I had a positive pregnancy result so we were just over the moon. I have to go back on Thursday for another scan, I’m just constantly googling and trying to hear positive stories. I’m sure u r the same. Really hope we are the ones to write positive stories xx

yea I am the same every twinge and I need to know what it is. One thing that I’ve found comforting is that everyone is so different so we have to tailor the symptoms to our body. Good luck I’ll look out for your updates x

What a worrying time this must be for you! I've never got to that point so can't advise. Was there a heartbeat? What was your HCG level on OTD? Xx

I was also measuring 1 week behind on my first ivf scan. I went back the week later and even though I was still 6 days behind where they estimated me to be, the baby had still grown in that week. At my 12 week appointment they just altered my due date by a few days. I'm 18 weeks now and everything is still going really well. It can be a worry but try to relax and enjoy it, as it takes a log for us to get to this point. Good luck x
