can I hear people’s stories on their babies measuring 6 weeks at the 7 week scan with a heartbeat?

You may be able to hear the heartbeat as early as 6 weeks but more often it is nearer 8 to 10 weeks

Take care

Forgot to say early scans can sometimes not be that accurate The scan at 10- 14weeks is used to see how far along your pregnancy is There is also a Forum similar to this one for pregnancy that you might find helpful

Hi Janet,

The poster notes it's an IVF pregnancy, so dates should be accurate.

Early scans are very accurate these days, so long as they're done in a medical setting with an appropriately trained tech.

I had the same a few weeks ago, sorry to say it didn’t end well for me. Week behind at the 7 week scan, follow up scan at EPU and their was no longer a heartbeat. The waiting between scans was far hardest point for me. I pray you have a better outcome xx

I’m really sorry to hear that, that’s exactly what I’m going through at the moment, a week until the follow up scan and it’s horrible. Thank you for sharing x

Please stay hopeful, heartbeat is a good sign sometimes they can be a little bit behind and catch up on the next scan. Wishing you all the best.xx

I had the exact same situation and was told the heartbeart was slow but I'm now 22 weeks, she had 'caught up' a week later. Keep everything crossed for you that you have the same outcome, the waiting is awful. Early scans are such a double edged sword 😩

I had a similar situation - measuring about 6 days behind at the 7 week scan. There was a heartbeat. They said early on the measuring isn’t always accurate. Baby has caught up now as is measuring correctly at 15 weeks and good heartbeat. Keep strong until your next scan. Hoping it will all be okay for you xxx

Hi,I was measuring at between 5-6 weeks when I went for my 7 week scan. I had another scan a week later and sadly little baby had not grown any further. It was heartbreaking. This was an IVF pregnancy too. I've only just had miscarriage surgery. Some IVF women though have measured behind and gone on to be absolutely fine and baby catches up etc. So stay hopeful and keep doing all the right things but also just be mindful. Xxx

I had a scan at 7 weeks 3 days and both my baby’s were 3mm. I was told to have a scan a week later. Both had heartbeats. I went back 3 days later and one was still 3mm and no longer had a heartbeat and the other was unrecognisable as in he couldn’t work out if it was a remaining yolk sac or an embryo. I have surgery this Monday to have them both removed. I hope you have a better outcome. It sounds like mine were smaller than yours and farther behind so maybe it will catch up 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
