I'm doing IVF for the first time. I had my first scan today (day 8 of stims). Follicles looked to be growing OK but they found a cyst. For some reason my clinic doesn't do baseline scans, but the last time I was scanned (around 3 months ago) the cyst wasn't there. That makes me think maybe it's caused by the stims but I have had a miscarriage and a normal period in-between the last scan and starting stims.
Has this happened to anyone else? What happened with your cycle? Does it affect egg quality?

Could be a follicle left over from previous menstrual cycle that has not resolved [ shrank down] as they normally do Ask your clinic it to explain it to you I would think they will keep an eye to the size of the cyst
hi, I had a endometrioma (cyst) which was 17mm! It was at 4mm but with all the medication it grew. I had an egg retrieval (my first time) it didn’t affect it. 19 eggs were retrieved. After all said and done I had 7 embryos. I’m not sure if it affect eggs quality. Good luck! 🍀 🙏🏼
I had a cyst (not always the same one I think) pretty much during my entire IVF journey. My clinic just checked my bloods to ensure it was not an hormone producing cyst and all was fine and went ahead as if it wasn’t there.
Thank you for the replies JA-fnuk , Vmi9 and Habibi87 . I was back in the clinic this morning and he nurses weren't concerned about the cyst. They said it won't affect egg collection so I feel reassured
