I was too hopeful on my last cycle when 31 follicles were retrieved, 16 fertilized and got 8 embryos and also frozen 4 8-cells day3 embryos as the backup.
I am 42 and struggled to get good number of embryos in the last few cycles. Sent all day5 embryos for PGTA, report attached.
1: Do you think it make sense to transfer any of these PGTA tested embryos? I have heard from my previous doctor, some couple chose to transfer the few abnormal embies and got normal live birth. any view or experience on that?
2: I have 4 8-cells day frozen, should I transfer or challenge for day 5 and PGTA?
3: There is 4AA untested embryo frozen from previous cycle, should I give that a chance?
I don't have more energy or spirit to go for another cycle, have broken down emotionally and physically !
Thanks for your views!

I’m so sorry to see this, it sucks. I presume they’re all aneuploid? I’m not sure on your history but if they are, they’re highly unlikely to result in a baby and would likely result in miscarriage if they implanted. How old were you when the frozen 4AA was collected? You could transfer that and hope for the best. Lots of luck if this is what you decide to do xx
1. I dont think you'd be permitted to transfer the PGTA embryos if they have been shown to be aneuploid depending on where you live perhaps. UK won't transfer aneuploid.
2. I would see if you can get these to Day 5 and discuss with embryologists whether to test
3. Yes you should give the frozen 4AA a chance. I have an untested embryo and have been advised not to test because of risk of thaw and test then freeze and re thaw. Another discussion with embryology is probably the way to go.
I am from India and here they could transfer! But is it worth? I have heard from my previous doctor when I had high aneuploid, that some couples transferred low aneuploid embies (She refused to transfer mine due to multiple aneuploidity )and got success, but wanted to know the view from this from forum!
I worried that the clinic would suggest to test rest of all before transfer and would end up having nothing.
So for me I would never transfer an aneuploid embryo if I had the choice (which I don't here in the UK). I got pregnant via IVF with an untested embryo which we discovered at 14 weeks had Trisomy 18 Edwards Syndrome, therefore would not survive and I had to make the heart wrenching decision to end the pregnancy. Because of this I would never transfer an embryo which had tested abnormal as the chances of another termination or a miscarriage would be more likely.
I would suggest discussing all your worries with the clinic. You may find that they don't suggest testing the ones already frozen but only a conversation will tell you that. Plus if you don't want to test them surely you have that choice and can push for that?
I would say if your clinic Is prepared to transfer them then have a look into research into chromosomes which have a better chance at success
That being said if your clinic - and you - are prepared to transfer abnormal embryos anyway then I probably wouldn’t bother testing again next time and just go straight to transfer
They don’t seem to have reported if any are in fact mosaic - I’d ask the question and If any are mosaics then start with those as a transfer priority
