Low sperm motility

I was wondering if anyone has had success in turning there own or thier partners sperm motility around and becoming pregnant. My partners is on the borderline, I think it was 30 or somthjng

We have tried with no success to get pregnant for 2 years and had 2 failed rounds of ivf with icsi. Of course he has been on supplements throughout and tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Any accounts welcome. Thankyou

Hi Ivfhopeful. Well, if you have been taking multivitamins with extra selenium and zinc and eating healthily, then I can’t add much more. You have been having ICSI whici I fel is best too. You could ret having sex doggy fashion so that the sperm is deposited right by the cervix, so less distance to swim. Have you had your Fallopian tubes checked for blockages? Hope all eventually works out ok. Diane

My husband's motility and count turned around by the time of our icsi cycle - for 3 months he cut out alcohol completely, tried to keep his stress levels low, no sauna, no cycling.

Has he seen an andrologist? There may be something lurking that some antibiotics can clear up.

in reply toChiefy

Chiefy thankyou, and no, and I've never heard of an androlagist! But I'm googling it now. I find IVF clinics don't try to give you information like this, they just chuck embryos at you hoping one will stick! Xxx

If ICSI didn’t work perhaps egg quality is playing a role too? How many eggs did they attempt to fertilize?

in reply toLinzeeee

Linzeeee I had 10 eggs collected, 4 fertilised, one grade one embryo that failed to implant and 2 in the freezer that are poor quality. Yeah I don't know what to think anymore, thankyou xx

Our stories are so much alike! It's been 3 years for us. Low count, low motility, and low AMH for me as well. 2 failed ICSI cycles with poor quality embryos that didn't stick. Doing everything under the sun! Taking all multivitamins for both of us. We will be having our one last cycle now, can't afford after this. Sorry I am as perplexed as you as to what to do, so got no advice. But just sharing to let you know you aren't alone. Hope it works out for us both naturally! ♥️

in reply toTamaa

Tamaa im feeling desperate about it now. What vitamins does he take? Are u uk based? Ivf not working is the worst xxx

Yep, UK based. He is taking Impryl, this is his 3rd month of taking them.

in reply toTamaa

Ahh ok, can't you get NHS funding? Or u already did that. I too have no money, 2 embryos of low quality left in the freezer but not sure weather to spend mobey putting them 8n or save again for new embryos x

We are done with NHS funding, those cycles failed. If I were you, I would have prepared my body well and then transferred the frozen ones. Reason being age is more of a factor that plays role in success rather than embryo grade. There are numerous positive stories about low quality embryos resulting in beautiful babies. Time is of essence. Increasing age definitely reduces the pregnancy rate.

in reply toTamaa

Yeah I feel like my body was messed up from egg collection and high estrogen, then had the transfers. I've had to be private the whole way. But still don't feel like they explain enough. I wish I'd frozen my embryo and recovered my body xx

hi, hope he’s not carrying his phone in the pant pocket. This could be an unnoticed reason. Try it for a quick test in 10 days.
