So kinda getting over the disappointment of our 2nd ivf failing. I want to try naturally but my partners sperm is very low. Just wanted to hear any stories of success with such low sperm or advice? He's changed his diet and lifestyle and started vitamins for sperm. Thanks in advance xx

Hi me and my partner was trying for over year and we couldn't get pregnant and was not entitled to ivf on the NHS as we had a child naturally 8 years ago. But we had all the investigations done and it come back that my partner sperm count was to low to conceive naturally and would have to pay privately for ivf. We was in to the second year of still not conceiving naturally when we said that we would put all the ivf on hold for 1 year as it put so much pressure on us as a couple and with that in April of this year I found out I was pregnant and I am currently 6months and due 3rd January. My story to you as a couple is that nothing is in possible and never give up hope. I wish you both all the luck
Hi Angelpopa. So sorry to hear about your 2nd failed cycle of treatment. However, keep up with the vitamins for him, plus extra zinc and selenium. Good sources of zinc include dairy products, nuts – especially Brazil nuts and seeds. Vitamins C and E are also known for their benefits as vitamin E is thought to help sperm to be more potent. Vitamin C is known for its protective qualities at preventing the DNA in sperm from becoming damaged. Vitamin E is found in avocados, sweet potatoes, sprouts and tomatoes. Good sources of vitamin C are kiwis, strawberries, oranges and broccoli. Regular intercourse is also recommended to encourage “manufacture” of new sperm. Make sure you have regular intercourse too, to keep the manufacture going, and to rid him of debris in the ejaculate. Hope this helps. Diane
My hubby had a very low sperm count, we've never been given an exact figure and although the Dr said it wasnt impossible, it was highly unlikely. Unfortunately my hubby cant do anything to improve his count as its hormone related and probably from a childhood injury but there are things that he can try. Sounds like you're on the right track with diet and vitamins, we got told vit c 500mg twice a day and co enzyme q10 100mg once a day to help improve quality. This along with loose underwear, no baths, just warm showers, cycling can affect things and just general stress can affect it all! Best of luck!xx
