Unexplained infertility failed PGT normal embryo
What to do differently for second FET... - Fertility Network UK
What to do differently for second FET any recommendations?
hi the topic is very broad, but I would say speak to the recurrent implantation/ miscarriage clinic to do more tests so they can prescribe you whatever support medication is required. It took me a long push and seeing different consultants to get extra medications and checks/tests. If your clinic is not supportive, just change it.
it depends what you did last time perhaps if you widen your question to what you’ve tried there might be a few ideas as to what else there could be too 🤗 sometimes it’s trial and error and a little bit of luck too xx
I haven’t tried anything?? That’s why I’m asking x
oh sorry I thought you had said it was your 2nd FET? So I meant I don’t know what you did the first time to try differently? I didn’t want to rhyme of things you had already.
Things you can try for a FET
up progesterone (perhaps try in injection form like lubion)
Emma/Alice/ERA testing for optimal timing of transfer and transfer conditions
Blood thinners to prevent clotting (baby aspirin or clexane injections)
There’s also lots of probiotics, antibiotics etc for any imbalance or infections that might come form those additional tests
These are the things I have covered off with my consultant for advice and we’ve tried a few of them but the one that worked for me was the exact same as the ones that didn’t (and still hasn’t worked again!) so sometimes I am not sure they even know!
Hope that helps and sorry for the confusion 🤗💜
Thanks so much, did you do PGTA testing? I just failed with a 5AA euploid. My consultant doesn’t really believe in emm/Alice etc. and said he will tweak the progesterone Ron the third round. I just feel at a loss x
no we decided not to test as only got one or 2 embryos so just put them back. I’ve also had success with an untested in the past. Our clinic don’t do the Emma/Alice either so I was looking into doing it abroad but I’m not sure what to do with time ticking! 🙈
We’ve upped progesterone and added clexane and I’ve had a chemical last transfer (so at least we are getting timing right for implantation) so going for a fresh round again soon and hoping for a different outcome 🤞🏽 xx
Have you looked at an endometrial scratch before transfer? It can help with blood flow to the womb, and maybe upping progesterone and adding blood thinners. Good luck x
hey Rhea87, I’m in a similar position to you. I’ve had two 5AA PGTA tested embryos fail. It really makes you feel at a loss and question the purpose of testing. I don’t have the magic answer yet, however I had an interesting conversation with the lead embryologist at my clinic who said that there are many factors in an embryo continuing I.e. it needs to have enough energy to continue developing and just because it’s PGTA tested doesn’t mean it does. Wishing you the best of luck for your next transfers and sending you lots of good energy.
thank you is this to do with the mitoscore? And did your embryos implant?
I don’t know about mitoscores unfortunately. My first untested embryo implanted briefly but the two PGTA tested ones did not.
