I want some opinion regarding alcohol and miscarriage.
my husband drinks most weekends and sometimes daily, we got pregnant naturally after I was told my left tube was blocked (other tube was removed last year due to ectopic pregnancy) I lost this pregnancy last week (delayed miscarriage). And anothe miscarriage 2 years ago.
I want to know they chance of alcohol effecting this!
Obviously we are going to have more investigation done but I want him to stop drinking all together before trying again, but feel very frustrated and keep blaming his life style etc which not helping.

I am so sorry for your losses. And I am posting as I am yet to be in the same position but have recently gone through IVF due to endometriosis and my husband and I have had all the tests under the sun. He drinks daily, like at least 6 beers a day but he has super sperm which was so frustrating for me as I hardly drink at all. Alcohol can impact sperm quality and therefore embryo quality but it my case embryo was graded pretty good.
We are currently 6w pregnant through IVF and early days but all going well. Maybe worth having a semen analysis if open to it? All the best
I have heard something similar in that alcohol can have a negative impact and the doctors always recommend to avoid it. My partners semen analysis improved when he started eating healthier and avoided alcohol. However, his was pretty bad before that. Is it worth doing a DNA fragmentation test and a Tunnel test? I think this is a better test for chromosomal abnormalities. We were asked to do this when my partners semen had improved but was still not the best. He had a low DNA fragmentation so the doctors were happy with that. Sorry about your losses and wish you all the best!
Hello, I am deeply sorry to hear your story. While I may not be an expert in this area, it is well known that alcohol can have a negative impact on sperm quality, which could potentially be a factor in pregnancy loss. Recent studies recommend to avoid consuming alcohol for at least 3 months prior to ttc. (source: iyoni.app/want-to-get-pregn... Hope this helps. Good luck
