anyone else in the 2WW hell?

Success stories of an FET for a second child? I’ve had a failed transfer last summer which was a 5AA embryo.

I had an FET yesterday with a 5AB and as positive as I would like to feel can’t help feeling like it will fail since the last embryo did and the grading was so good 😕

I had my 5th transfer last March for baby number 2. It was my last and worse graded embryo - she’s now a very happy 5 month old! 🥰 Good luck and fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏻🍀 X

Hi. It's so tough isn't it!!

I had a successful fresh transfer in 2019

I then had two failed FETs last November and in January and lost an embryo in the thaw (the highest quality of the lot ...even more than my daughter's) in the first one too.

I just tested yesterday after my final Embryo was transferred and it is a BFP.

Very early days! But trying to be hopeful. So far a success story with a second child with the lowest quality embryo!

Wishing you lots of luck!!

wow congrats!!! I’ve heard some surprising stories re embryo quality. I was surprised when my fet failed last summer because it was the same embryo quality as my daughters but it just shows you it really does depend!!

I had a transfer (no idea about grading my clinic doesn't volunteer the info and I didn't want to know) with an endometrial thickness of 6.3.

On transfer day I got really stressed out as the clinic didn't ring when they said they would. Then when transferring the nurse doing the ultrasound started commenting how she loved seeing the transfer on the scan which is usually too gentle to see. Got out of the transfer and the person in front of me fell and broke their hip. As I was helping them I missed the first 3/4 of my post transfer acupuncture.

To top it off I got home and started jumping round the room with my daughter before remembering the clinic said not to do that.

I was convinced after all that it there was no way it would work but I m now 10 weeks.

Keeping fingers crossed for you. 🙂

Just to say good luck!! A 5AB is a really good grease! I have just got a BFN for the second time with my 5th embryo. This embryo was a lower grade than the others and older so you have every chance this one will work for you!! xx

6dp5dt and no symptoms really. Not sure if this is a good sign or not.

I had cramping over the weekend which was around 3 days past now nothing!

Hello I wanted to say hey, I’m also trying for a sibling for our little miracle from a fresh round. Im finding it way more stressful this time: It did work with our FET but I sadly miscarriage recently. It was out 2nd top quality egg aswell. Wishing you the best of luck.

not yet, but have transfer booked for Monday - also trying to get a sibling for our little IVF boy 🤞 much harder for us this time, our little boy was transfer no. 3, whereas we’ve already had 6 failures this time 😢 being older isn’t helping, clearly. but still trying! 💪 💫🍀

thanks everyone for your messages! Unfortunately BFN this morning at 10dp5dt so looks like I’m out. Another failed cycle with a good grade embryo! Pretty sure the 4 I’ve got left at 4 & 3ABs so maybe a double next time 🤷🏻‍♀️ wish you all luck xx

Sorry to hear about your BFN. Always so devastating. I thought I would share my success story with you, that you can take with you through the rest of your journey. We had a successful ivf baby 6 years ago with donor sperm. This was second transfer. We then tried to conceive a sibling with no joy. 5 transfers later and I am now 8 weeks pregnant. They changed the medication this time round which I think had helped. I am taking the usual prognovya tabs and the pessaries, plus lubion injections twice daily. This was our last shot, no more in freezer and couldn't afford to do it all again. I am very grateful and anxious all rolled into one. Best of luck to you. Xx

thank you! I have 4 embryos left, once these are gone I won’t be doing a fresh ivf cycle again. Did you do single or double transfers? I’ve not heard of the lubion injections before. Mine has been prognova, pessaries and clexane x

Hiya. No double for me. I did ask before and they said I was too young 🤷‍♀️ I was 37 and you need to be 38. I think it always depends on the embryologist with what medication to try. Might be worth asking. I have my early scan on Friday, so keeping everything crossed. X

wishing you all the best and congratulations! That’s strange how the clinics rules all vary. I had a double transfer when I was 31 which resulted in my daughter who’s now 2.5. 2 failed single embryo transfers since at 33 & 34. Will see what my clinic say at the follow up appointment. I would just love to give my daughter a sibling but also know how incredibly lucky I am to have her x

Thank you so much 💓 yeh I always find it strange too with different clinics doing it different ways. I am up in Scotland, so don't know if that has anything to do with it. I read on here about people getting blood tests as well to see hormone levels, that isn't something my clinic does. We felt the same way, so desperately wanted to give our wee one a sibling, and it broke our hearts when we had the failed transfers. She gets upset being an only child, but she doesn't understand it all obviously. Are you going to wait to do it again or keep the momentum going? X

I am going to go straight back into it! I did a transfer in July last year and took a break then started again March. I know it probably be another 2 months till an FET once they have my treatment cycle etc which will take me to June. Fingers crossed! X
