FET likely cancelled due to breast lump 😔

Well this was a curveball I did not expect. A really shitty end to a really shitty few months. I only found the lump tonight so will have to call the clinic tomorrow. ET was meant to be in 6 days. I suppose better to find it now than after ET. Now gutted to be cancelling and scared about what will be found. Not sure what I did to piss off the universe so badly! Grump grump.

xx

that must be worrying I presume you have taken the decision to cancel yourself until you get it checked out 🥲 you may be able to get a GP appointment to see what they say before you call your clinic or have the transfer? Sometimes the GP can tell from seeing you if it’s something to be worried about or just a cyst etc and they may be okay for yoj to go ahead xx

I’m waiting to talk to my clinic to ask what to do and if they would want to see me. As usual I can’t get through to anyone. I spoke to a private GP last night (very lucky to have that through work) and they have done a referral to a breast surgeon, which I may or may not need to do depending on what the clinic want to do. I’m a wreck between the Progynova, which is making me feel awful, and the worry. I really want to start the progesterone just to feel less rubbish! Xx

oh thinking of you lovely 🤗 but you are doing the right thing all these hormones can cause all sorts of lumps and bumps so hopefully it’s just that (I’ve had a couple myself that have disappeared when I come off the meds) sending a big huge squeeze!! 💜

Hello, so sorry to hear this extra stress and worry you are going through. Nothing is easy!!!

I used to listen to the Big fat negative podcast. Been a few years so I can’t remember it precisely but one of them found a lump too, went to her gp and got referred pretty quickly, it ended up been fine and she continued with the cycle ….. at the referral they told her that lumps and cysts like this were quite common with women that do fertility treatment, that they can be caused by the medication. Also some women develop more moles on their bodies due to the meds/hormones.

Really hope all is ok xxxx

Thanks for this 😊 I am hoping that’s what it is although have had on and off mild discomfort the last couple months. Never found a lump (I had lots of frequent feels around) but did have a few blocked ducts that side when BF so was not worried at all. With hindsight I should have gone straight to GP but as the pain would come and go with my cycles I wasn’t bothered. Hey ho, we all have 20:20 hindsight! Xx

Good luck, fingers crossed for you, let us know how you get on xx

Oh love, what a nightmare bless you. I just wanted to say a bit like Rol81 says I have heard that fertility drugs can cause all sorts of weird lumps and bumps so I am really hoping it is just that and you can keep going with your cycle. My clinic insisted on me having a mammogram before they did a transfer but you still have plenty of time to have that done and keep going. Crossing my fingers for you xx

I have an appt with a breast specialist Monday night and transfer booked for Tuesday 😬 they should in theory do mammo and U/S then so I am hoping I get some sort of answer. You must be about to pop?! Xx

Crossing everything you can squeeze it all in.. when I had the mammogram you got the results then and there. God as if IVF isn't stressful enough! Just when we think we have seen it all, another curveball!

Booked in for section in 2 weeks although some talk of moving it forward so who knows!

Keep us updated lovely xx

oh I’m sorry to hear this purple! I can imagine it can be very worrying! Hope that it turns out to be nothing and you can go ahead with your FET as planned (or very soon!) all the best! Xx

Crossing my fingers for you that it's a random side effect from the meds and you can carry on. Good luck at the appointment x

Ah Lovely I'm sorry to hear this. I can relate 100% though, this happened to me (in fact I posted on here about it, it was around November 2021 so have a look at the responses I got there too!). Mine just appeared suddenly after my trigger, so I mentioned it at egg collection and we opted for a freeze-all of any embryos (miraculously we got 3 that round, in the end). I was pretty sure it was due to the meds, as it came at the end of my highest stims dose ever, and just appeared overnight with the ovitrelle trigger. But I defo wanted to check it wasn't anything sinister before going ahead with a transfer.

In my case, I managed to get a GP to see me the next day and within 2 weeks had been to the breast screening clinic to get it checked. Turned out it was a cyst, which they did think was caused by the meds. By that point it has shrunk massively, but they drained all the fluid that was there then and there for me, gave me the all-clear, and I was able to do my FET a couple of weeks later. So in the end it didn't hold things up too much. Not nice though, and I did find (coz i googled SO much) that this actually does happen a lot with IVF, but isn't well documented, it seems.

I'm glad you've got an appointment so soon though, that's good to hear xx

Just a little update: the breast surgeon was not concerned about anything at my appt last night and I was given the go-ahead for my FET today. One 5AA on board now so onto the rollercoaster we go xx
