Doxycycline

Good afternoon all, I wondered if anyone had experience in using Doxycycline. I'm about to start another cycle with a new egg donor. We've had 8 transfers prev, was successful in 2017 with our first cycle but have since had failed cycles and early miscarriages. This is the only new thing we are adding this cycle and the clinic we're a bit vague as when best to actually take it.

Many thanks x

My husband and I took this. It worked wonders for my husband and also helped me improve my microbiome. I took them before my last transfer for 30 days. Was told to take one morning, one evening. To take after food and not to take them with dairy. Also don't lie down after taking them.

Wishing you the best.

I've also been prescribed 100mg doxycycline and told to take it twice daily for 14 days (husband 7 days) to treat ureaplasma found in my uterine lining. I will also need to take probiotics, but there are two different recommendations online - to start them alongside or after the course of antibiotics. A little confused but many scientific researches indicate correlation between inflammation due to certain bacteria in uterus and infertility so I'm hoping this will help us succeed!

I was on antibiotics before transfer for 14 days. It was a successful transfer but I don't know if antibiotics or steroids helped me to keep the pregnancy, or both. There are lots of researchers done now to check if antibiotics are playing an important role in the whole process, I been part of one. There is no harm in taking it before transfer. Take care 💕

My clinic prescribe it as standard, they just said that whilst there was no suggestion I had any infections, it just made 100% sure if I had any they were knocked on the head before transfer. This was my most successful transfer but like Ranchu I can't say whether that was due to the drugs or simply because it was my first donor round and so the DE gave me better chances. Good luck x
