Success stories needed!

Hi everyone,

We are doing our first ivf cycle. We had 5eggs collected on Weds and are in the wait stage to see how they do. On thurs the team phoned to say that 4 were progressing nicely and were on track.

So they phoned today to say they are all still going but to be prepared that they might not all make it to blast stage but that they were going the right way. Has anyone had all of what they got get to blastocyst stage and gone on to have a positive?

Thank you everyone ♥️

Hi. All of us very different and it's take only one to be successful . I'm my case I had 12 and only two survive on the 5 day and used both( different year) and it's successfully done . Good luck to you 🤞💚

Hi thank you for replying.

This is what I keep trying to remember it only takes one! X

Hi! Exactly like how itsworks17 said. Everybody is diferent! I had 15 eggs retrieved, 12 got fertilised and 2 made it to blastocyst, soooo it's a lottery, nobody can know how they'll develop. The numbers go down very fast! Try to be optimistic but realistic in the same time and be prepared for anything! I'm telling you from my own experience because on my 1st IVF I got 6 eggs, 3 fertilised and none made it to day 5 sooo when the doctor called me and told me what happened I had a shock because I never thought that this can happen to me. But this time around I was more prepared for any news. Fingers crossed and good luck for many healthy blastocysts!!!!

Thank you like many the ideal would be to have something to freeze but you just don’t know what’s going to happen.

Thank you for replying and sharing xx

Hey. I had 4 mature eggs collected out of which 1 didn’t grow,1 transferred,1 didn’t make the North Pole and we have 1 in the North Pole (freeze) which we are transferring hopefully next month. Nothing is guaranteed with this process it’s so up and down. I was disappointed at the time but to think I had 4 eggs and 2 survived is pretty good! It would be a wonderful world if they all made it 💕 good luck 🤞🏼

It’s most definitely a lottery, our last cycle we had 7 collected 5 fertilise and 4 make it to blastocyst stage. Had 1 5aa put back in. Currently 32 weeks pregnant, and the 3 left are frozen.

Hi 👋

This is lovely! Massive congratulations!

In an ideal world it would great to have something to freeze but we will just have to see tomorrow how they are doing. As others have said we only need one so being hopeful! Xx

You 100% only need one! Just be realistic is what I’ve always thought! This is my fourth cycle. Having stuff to freeze is like that extra special Christmas gift but just hope for 1 good un 😍

Echo why everyone else has said. I had 7 collected first round, 5 fertilised and doing v. well but only one viable on transfer day. I was super disappointed but I’ve learnt that we are all different, so do be hopeful- but try not to focus on numbers. Second round I had more eggs collected and a similar story but I am now almost 40wks 🥳 You literally only need one and anything else is a bonus x

Thank you so much for replying and massive congratulations!

I’m trying to be hopeful especially as we have never knowingly got this far before and just hope all goes well tomorrow xx

Such a lottery, I had 10 and 9 were fertilised and 5 made it further but only 3 made it to blasto. Hopefully all yours will make it but don’t be disheartened if you get less than 4

I am trying to be realistic I get moments where I’m really excited as we have never knowingly got this far before but then I

Have to come back down and go it could all still go wrong be prepared. Xx

You learn and tweak and improve with each experience.. first time I had 12 eggs and none made it to day 5. It was one of the most upsetting experiences of my life. That eventuality had not even crossed my mind. On the second attempt, with a few tweaks, I had 18 eggs which have led to one current 20 week baby boy growing in my belly and 6 more good quality embryos in the freezer. Whatever happens, don't lose heart. It's a game of genetics, science as well as luck. Best of luck to you.

Thank you so much and congratulations!

I’m trying really hard not to focus on the numbers, although I have seen the stories on here of ppl where it hasn’t worked out and been devastated for them. I’m just trying to be as hopeful but realistic as possible.

This life lottery is challenging at times.

Thank you for replying 💕

Well done so far, it's not easy, I don't think anyone ever gets all eggs to blasto, so don't be too disheartened.5 is a good number :-)

I had three eggs collected, 2 made it to blasto, I had them both transferred back to me and I now have a beautiful 8week old baby girl.

Remember it's quality not quantity.

Good luck to you X

Hi thank you for replying.

You’re right we didn’t but they said they will watch the other 3 until tomorrow and let us know if any make it. We got one top grade but that’s all they said. So keeping everything crossed it’s enough to work.

Thank you and congratulations xx

Hi I had 19 eggs collected. 6 embryos to begin with and in the end we had 4 embryos that made it. I got pregnant on my first embryo in my first round of ICSI. Everyone is different so please wait to see what the clinic say. You haven’t long to wait. Good luck xxx

Hi thank you for replying!

This is nice to hear I haven’t heard many stories of people who fell on their first cycle and first embryo! This is where we are at. Transfer done now to the 2ww!

Thank you 😊
