Had an MMC at 7 wks in Oct 22 (4th transfer and first time I’ve ever had a positive pregnancy test). It took nearly 2 months for me to naturally have a period after.
I had some miscarriage/ implantation testing with a university research clinic in Jan and was hoping to use their protocol and have a FET soon.
So I had the follow up appt to discuss my results and turns out they’re all over the place and the clinic are scratching their heads on what to do! They’ve suggested repeating the test in a mock cycle (as my PCOS makes ovulation prediction difficult).
I’m deflated. It’s been over 4 months since the miscarriage and I really want to press ahead with things. I’m 42 and know time is not on my side. Do I just go ahead with the FET or take a further 2-3 month pause for this testing?
Sorry for the long mess and thanks. Xx

Sorry you are going through this, it’s so hard. I’m not sure I can offer any real advice but I was in same position as you and had another transfer which was a big BFN.
After that I had tests but they didn’t really tell me much - everything normal! My doctor here said they were a waste of time as I already knew I could implant and was on steroids anyway. Also I didn’t have endometriosis. However, my clinic in Spain were so I did do them.
I had a BFP after them and another miscarriage. After my second miscarriage clinic here did a blood test which said I was susceptible to clotting, however I had been on blood thinners with the two miscarriages anyway.
I totally get not wanting to waste time but it might be worth having the tests again and seeing if they can come up with something which helps. I think I felt after the BFN that it was worth doing to see if anything else could be identified. Wishing you luck with your decision and whatever you decide will be the right thing for you. Xx
Hi there, thanks so much for your msg. I had taken a break from the forum but am back now having decided to go ahead with the FET.
Just had a look at your most recent posts and I do hope you’re doing ok, you’ve been through a lot.
Pls don’t give up. I’ve seen on your post that so many ladies have given some great advice that I can’t really add to. Just keep the faith and good luck. Xxx
Sorry you going through this…. I’m in a similar situation.. I’ve just had a miscarriage at 12 weeks after a fresh IVF transfer.. I have frozen embryos left which I have to transfer before I move onto the next IVF round (protocol for the payment plan I’ve done).
Just had the review appointment with my clinic and I can’t decide if I should do tests now before the frozen transfers.. NK cell testing/Blood tests/embryo tests (which would cost a fortune).. or I can start the FET next month and have the tests on the next round of IVF if these frozen transfers fail. Such a hard decision!
I know I can implant as have done twice as had a chemical last year with IUI and did on the IVF fresh transfer! Having tests could delay frozen transfers by a few months or potentially even longer.
Such a hard decision.. but we have to make the one that we’re comfortable with. Hope your able to make the best decision for you!
Hi there, thank you so much for your message. Had taken a break from the forum as it was all getting a bit much.
I’m so sorry to hear about your loss and hope you’re ok. I had my my D&C back in Oct 22 and it took me until Jan to start to feel better and more like myself.
I’ve decided not to repeat the testing just yet as finally feel good enough to get on with things. Started meds for my FET last week. I read from your most recent post you may have too. Good luck!! I hope this is the one that works for both of us. Xxx
