how long between FETs?

hi all,

I have just had a failed FET and have one last embryo in the freezer. Just wondering how long everyone leaves between transfers?

My clinic has a minimalistic approach to giving advice or any help at all 🙄 so turning to the people who actually go through this 🥰

I was going to miss a cycle and allow my body to have a 2 month break from meds but interested to know what everyone else does.

Many thanks x

My private clinic was happy to go again the month after a withdrawal bleed whereas my NHS one wanted at least one natural period in between, but that may have been for scheduling reasons. I did collection (early loss) withdrawal bleed, new clinic collection (early loss), withdrawal bleed, FET (successful). So quite a bit in the space of a few months but I felt ready and didn't have any complications like ohss or from the losses, but not sure waiting a couple of months would be a bad thing and you may want that time to reset.

Sorry to hear about your failed transfer. You commented on my other post, so I wish you all the luck with your last frostie. We have done it both ways in the past...waited in between and also just going ahead with like 1-2 months in between. Our clinic has always been like, just let us know when you are ready. Sometimes you want to keep the momentum going and go for it again. With us in the past, it was more financial reasons for waiting a bit of time. We have waited quite a bit this time round but that is because its our last one and didn't even know if we wanted to go ahead at all .

Good luck xx

I’m so sorry it didn’t work this time 😢 sending you a big hug xxx

our clinic is withdrawal bleed and then another period before you can start again … by that point. I’m always chomping at the bit to go again so I feel that’s more than long enough lol xx

same as above, I tried after my next normal period. I had a long wait from failed FET to period (over 50 days) from hormones and PCOS. Mid No first attempt and the next period was mid Jan and FET on 14th Feb. Felt like ages but I don’t have age on my side, being 43 so wanted to try again straight away. Clinic was supportive, post failed transfer consultation was flexible around when I could/would try again. Not saying it will happen for you but I opted this round for the scratch, lost 5lbs, acupuncture and general better lifestyle changes and just tested positive. Wishing you all the best on journey xx
