I'm currently on a waiting list for an laparosocopy and hysteroscopy but wanted some advice.
I have an AMH of 2.1pmol/l (very low) and I heard that a laparoscopy can reduce the AMH even further. I'm wondering if this is from direct treatment on the ovaries if they find scar tissue/endometriosis or could the AMH be affected just from the observation of the area and no direct treatment.
It probably sounds a bit silly as I'm not sure how the inspection of the ovaries without treatment could affect the AMH but I just wanted to check if there was anyone who could give me any advice.
I'm wondering whether I really need the laparoscopy so just trying to get some information before going back to the gynaecologist

Hi I would of thought it would be direct treatment that would affect the level. I was totally unaware this could happen, I had my AMH checked prior to lap and it was 11 something then within 12 months it was 3.7, no one told me this could happen. X
Hi, I think laparoscopies can cause more scar tissue and adhesions even without direct treatment. I wonder if those adhesions could then affect the ovaries? Might be a bit of a stretch but worth the question. X
Think this would only effect AMH if ovarian tissue was removed or damaged in some way Best discuss your fears/concerns with your gynaecologist as he is qualified to answer them
