FET with prolapse?

Hey ladies

I want to do a FET in April and am working on losing weight and getting healthier before then to give myself the best chance. I’m 43.

I did an ICSI cycle with a fresh transfer in December which was unsuccessful.

I’ve had recurring UTI’s since late Nov and am trying to get on top of them. I feel really uncomfortable in the pelvic area, not really pain as such, but need to wee ALL the time and I’m super fed up. I’ve been really unwell on reflection since I had a TMFR for Tri 13 in June 21 - covid, flu, gallstones and gallbladder removal, bronchitis, yadi yada - I feel like I’ve been to the doctors every bloody week!

I’ve got a GP care plan here in Aus for nutrition & exercise, I’m seeing a counsellor for depression/anxiety and I’m getting bloods done to check everything so I can really get on top of my health.

I was feeling really good about this but now I’ve noticed something ‘down there’ which I think might be a prolapse - I think I can feel my cervix - it’s really low. I think this might be causing frequent UTIs and increasing my need to wee.

So, I wondered with all the experience here if you had advice on this - can I have a FET with

a prolapse, issues if I did get pregnant etc. Also any advice for treatment/help etc. I’m based in Australia.

I’m going to the GP this morning as I feel so crap, but would appreciate your advice on all this. It helps to write it down.

thanks x

Hi lovely you need to get it checked out to see what it is, our cervix does come lower just before our period but if you think there is a prolapse it could be the cause of all the urine infections too and if you get pregnant there are risks associated with infections as well as cervix issues with preterm labour etc. If you do have that and your GP and clinic are good with you progressing they might want to do a mid cycle catheter test just to check they wouldn’t have any issues with getting the embryo where it needs to be before the big day (I’ve had this after getting some precancerous cells removed from my cervix to check the changes hasn’t caused any issues) . I know you’ve said you’ve been at the GP a lot lately but does sound like another trip to them might be best xx
