I have received a letter today asking me to attend a gynaecologist appointment, never had one in my life and not sure what to expect? The letter HASN’T said I need to do anything for a possible examination. So I’m not sure what will happen? I have already had an ultra sound and Transvaginal scan and lots of fertility blood tests and they have all came back fine or satisfactory no further action. Hope someone can give me some info on what to expect or their experience! X

They will ask lots of questions about your periods - when did they start- how long they last - any pain etc Other questions will be about smear history - if used any contraception in the past etc Try not to worry too much it just all about your pass medical history If unsure about any of the question just ask for more information
Take care

Hi Lauren, try not to worry. You could always give the clinic a call and ask for more details. I had my first gynaecology appointment in December and they just asked questions - about periods (length, time etc), medical history. Even when you are at the appointment feel free to ask questions yourself if you are unsure of what’s being discussed.
