Hello hope you are ok? I would honestly seek help. Because the waiting times to get tests done can be soo long. Try not to put too much pressure on yourselfs. Don’t let it become doing the deed on a certain day because that’s so difficult mentally. Do your best to relax and enjoy being with each other xxx
I would definitely recommend speaking to your GP now and get a referral for some initial tests, then at least the ball is rolling.
The best advice my GP gave me when I was in your position was to throw away the ovulation tests for a while and stop tracking my cycle and symptoms. This didn’t help us to conceive but it did encourage me to properly reconnect with my husband and step away from some of the pressure of not getting pregnant while we were having our tests. I still used the app but only to record when my period arrived as my cycle length can vary month to month
Hey - we were in the same boat 18 months ago and decided to just pay for a private fertility MOT - it cost around £220. Unfortunately we had issues on both sides, but did manage to catch naturally 6 months later after completing changing our lifestyles and taking supplements etc. My sister has recently taken the route of trying to get free checks done via the doctors, but it has actually been far more long winded and they don’t do the AMH test like the fertility clinic did for us (which is what I had a poor result on).
I’m glad we never wasted time and would recommend to anyone trying to conceive or looking at having children in the future to have an MOT done, just so that you are aware of any issues and whether you need to plan children sooner or whether you can wait until later! I obviously hope that those that have it done just get the reassurance that they need and therefore it takes the stress away of trying to conceive Xx
hello, the NHS guidance states that for women over 35, you should seek fertility advice if you’ve been trying to conceive for six months with no luck, so I would echo what others are saying xx
Hiya I would definitely echo what everyone has said and seek guidance from you GP. We did that when I had a spontaneous pregnancy in 2020 at 33 (resulted in ectopic) but haven’t been able to conceive naturally since then x
Hi, I echo what the others have said. There is of course absolutely every chance it will happen naturally but I would contact your GP. The waiting times on the NHS are pretty horrendous and so I’d suggest getting the ball rolling. Wishing you all the best. X
I completely agree with the others here. Check the nhs guidelines (I had to try for 2 years naturally before I was offered help, but I was 29 at the time). Waiting times are long and if you conceive naturally in the meantime, Fab, you can just cancel your appointments 🙂
