Just trying to connect with anyone that is perimenopausal and trying to conceive. Has anyone tried ovarian rejuvenation? I am thinking about it.

Thanks Tugsgirl

I’m peri menopausal but didn’t try ovarian rejuvenation. Hadn’t heard of it tbh. I suppose it depends on your amh, what doctors have said and your thoughts. As difficult as it was/is due to self funding we made the choice of donor eggs.

Good luck with your choices xx

I don’t know much about it. It is relatively new? What are the success rates? How much does it cost? Can you do it in the UK? Sorry so many questions!

Hi Jengi,

It looks to be mainly experimental in Europe. There are a few clinics offering it in the US for about £8k but most articles state that only a handful of babies have been born as a result of the experimental treatment.

The clinic we used in Spain are only trialing it and it’s not available as a treatment option yet. They have had 4 pregnancies to women who had previously had no success and were diagnosed with ovarian failure.

Thank you! Seems like it is still very experimental. As a scientist, I’m not sure I would gamble my money on it. But definitely worth knowing about such developments. Xx

Like Snuggles, I’m also peri-menopausal and my husband and I eventually decided to go down the donor egg route after 9 years of ttc and failed IVF attempts with my eggs. (I never actually produced any eggs at EC).

My AMH is very low also. Ovarian rejuvenation was never discussed.

No I did not go down that route. I looked into it though and it is still experimental and works for some and not others. The dr in Greece was very upfront about it. I have managed my symptoms with natural remedies.
