Hi. I'm having an embryo transfer tomorrow and just wondered whether I need time to recover, or if I'll be able to resume normal activities the next day?
I'm supposed to be going for dinner with a friend the next day (I'll obviously avoid things I shouldn't eat/drink during pregnancy).
Does anyone have any advice?

Hey. There’s no reason to rest after transfer. It’s a really quick procedure, and you can get back to normal life as soon as you like. My clinic described your uterus like a sandwich with the embryo like a filling which shouldn’t move!
most ladies feel absolutely normal after transfer it’s really quick and painless all they say is to take it easy for a couple of weeks in terms of exercise and stuff so dinner is probably a really nice thing to do to relax actually and take your mind off it 🤗💜 best of luck to you! We transferred today so I will be in the 2WW with you 🤞🏽 xx
Ah thank you! That's exactly what I was thinking - if I plan to do nice things/meet friends during the 2WW, hopefully it will take my mind off it and it'll go quickly!
Just out of interest, did your partner come with you when you had the embryo transfer? I'm not sure whether to take mine or not! I didn't bring him to any of the scans
yeah she did it’s quite a nice moment when you see the embryo go back in. She missed a few during covid and for me it is defo better to have them there (also didn’t have her at any scans and was just dropped off for egg collection) xx
I like to rest up on the day of transfer, but technically you’d be fine to go back to work more or less straight away afterwards so dinner the next day will be fine. Good luck for the tww and treat, pamper and indulge yourself as much as possible! X
wishing you the best! Just avoid heavy exercise and hot tubs/ saunas to be safe, a dinner would be a great way to relax. I had flown to Crete 2 days after my transfer but thankfully the relaxing holiday did the job and my 6th embryo stuck
Thanks everyone! Today's the day! Excited, but nervous at the same time! Fingers crossed for the best Christmas present I could hope for🤞 and all the best to you all on your own fertility journeys xx
After 1st transfer I took 2 weeks of work, rested for 2 weeks and it was BFN at the end. After 2nd transfer I rested for 2 days and went back to work in a very busy and at times stressful environment..and it resulted in pregnancy
