Is It Implantation? Can anyone help? Really Need Opinions.

Hi,

A bit of our back story:

We've been trying for a baby for over 4 years. We fell pregnant a few months in to trying but unfortunately there was no heartbeat at our 12 week scan.

Since then we found out there's male and female infertility issues.

I have a VERY low AMH level and I don't always ovulate each month. And have been told I'm perimenopause.

We went for icsi ivf 4 times, each time unfortunately failed.

We want to do another round of ivf, using donor eggs this time (which would change our success percentage from 10% to 75%), but unfortunately we're unable to afford it.

It's possible that I may have Endometriosis, I'm on the waiting list for a Laparoscopy to check.

MY QUESTION:

I started bleeding Saturday evening (just over 24 hours ago). I wasn't due my period until a weeks time and I'm pretty regular. So bleeding was very unexpected. My first thought is it could be implantation. The bleeding started 7 Days after Ovulation. On day 20 of my usually 28 day cycle.

So perfect timing.

The bleeding has been a flow not just spotting.

Usually my periods last only 4 days, starts really slow on the first day, and overnight and into day 2 and 3 it's heavy, and half way through day 3 and into day 4 becomes light again and stops.

This bleeding has been lighter than my period would usually be at this stage. By this point my period would have filled quite a lot of the pad up overnight. I woke up this morning and just under half my pad was full.

Could this be implantation bleeding?

The blood has been very dark brown. It looks thick on the pad but looks very watery and pink when I wipe.

This morning after taking my first pee of the day, the blood was very slimey and bright red.

And there were a couple of very small jelly like bits of blood. The biggest being about 4mm, so still very tiny.

Since Sunday morning I've had lower tummy cramps on and off. They don't last long. And sometimes there's a 3-5 hour gap between having them.

Since starting my period as a teenager, I've never been a week early at getting my period. I don't think I've ever been more than 2 days earlier than expected. So this bleeding has caught me completely off guard.

Does it sound like implantation? Has anyone else had implantation bleeding like this?

After 4 years of trying, hope completely fades, you just feel sad all the time. And expect any moment of hope to turn into a big fat negative. I started bleeding on the due date that our baby should have been born 3 years ago. I hope it was a sign. I hope life won't be that cruel as we've been through so much already. But all of us struggling to be mummy's and daddies out there know, that's not how life works.

I'm hoping this is our miracle.

It would be really nice to know other people's thoughts if this could be implantation or not?

I'm scared of the answers but came here for those honest answers πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

πŸ‘‹ hi

I’m sorry that you are going through this. It’s so difficult especially funding. I know how hard it is as I’ve had to self fund too. It’s cost us a fortune and we are trying to have another egg collection so at least another Β£10,000 plus. 😭

Regards to your post, I’m not a medical expert but going from your symptoms I just wanted to say I have similar. I have stage 4 endometriosis and I spot about a week after ovulation right up until my period and then some times I can have a light bleed or a heavy bleed depending on that month. I think when you have endo you have low progesterone which can cause the womb to break down earlier causing spotting before a period. I’m not saying I am correct as I’m not a professional but this is what happens to me. It only started for me the last 8 months so I kept convincing myself I was pregnant but I used to get upset as each month was always negative πŸ˜” I’m not saying your not pregnant but just be mindful. πŸ€—

See if you can get a diagnosis for endo and maybe see if you can get your progesterone checked.

Good luck hun. Xxx

Hiya Faith103 Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry to hear you are going through ivf too πŸ˜” it's such a stressful process on your body and your mind. And the cost is overwhelming. Luckily we were entitled to 2 rounds of ivf on the NHS, and the 3rd was a free round as it got cancelled by us just before egg collection. So we only had to pay for 1 round of ivf out of the 4, so we were extremely lucky. But we unfortunately had to get a family loan for the last round as we couldn't even afford that round ourselves.

It wasn't until the last round we were told our chances were only 10%. Now I know everything I wish we had gone straight to Donor Egg, lovely hindsite!

I really hope your next round of ivf works 🀞

I have recently had my progesterone levels checked and I was told the levels were fine.

So it's just the Laparoscopy that I'm waiting for to check if I do have Endometriosis or not.

I've had so many times over the last few years where something new will happen and I think it could be pregnancy but then like you, feel crushed that it wasn't. But you still can't help every single time getting excited that this new thing could be your sign, this could be your chance.

From Saturday evening when I first started bleeding, I got so incredibly excited, then Sunday woke up scared and not wanting to use the bathroom to find anything new out. To now going though moments of pure hope, to being scared that this is not implantation. But still in every moment I can't help but hope.

I'm just going to have to keep everything crossed.

I hope your ivf round goes really well xxx
