No-one will do my Blood tests

Please help, my last FET is scheduled for December (my 8th and last round) and I need my bloods doing again, but my own GP, Spire and Nuffield private clinics won't accept the request as it's outside the UK. Do you know of anyone that will do these bloods please? I'm Yorkshire based. Thank you in advance

Hi Can the clinic abroad recommend a lab in the UK? You can try and see if something like medichecks have the blood tests and order a kit?

There is Doctor's Laboratory that accept prescriptions from abroad but they must have some sort of previous arrangement.

It is very frustrating trying to arrange something like this. Private Healthcare in UK is awful, limited choice, bad quality compared to NHS and huge unjustified costs .

Thank you for your reply. The ones I need (HOV, syphilis, hep b antigen and hep c) aren't on medichecks list but I have messaged them just in case. Yes it's a real battle trying to get the preliminaries done! I think the only way round it is to pay privately for GP appointment at £80, then pay for each blood test. Didn't factor this cost in!

I am sure the doctors laboratory does these tests. They will need a prescription from your clinic abroad. They send a kit which you take to a phlebotomist. If you are in London they can do this too. But if your GP can do that for you that's great!

hiya I just did those ones at my Spanish clinic when I was there trying to get it done here was a nightmare. We could only do it either in Spain or privately here at a bigger cost xxx

Thanks both, managed to get quicker appointment via 'better2know' at a local clinic although Medichecks also do it and are a bit cheaper. Panic over hopefully! Thanks for your help xx

I was lucky my GP did them but I investigated where I could get them done in case they didn't. Medichecks do an IVF viral screenmedichecks.com/products/ivf...

It's not an at home one so you need to go to one of there approved places to get it done.

As for syphilis, could go to you nearest sexual health clinic and ask for the test?

Thanks got appointment tomorrow with better2know, although wished I'd waited until Medichecks quote come through as they were £100 cheaper, and it did include syphilis, so good to know.

You can use ultrasound direct. They have locations around the UK. Sometimes a bit of a drive but they can def do the bloods for you...
