Where to go for blood tests?

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get my AMH blood test done? It’s the last one I need, I know they can be expensive, just looking for a place that does it quickly and not at a horrendous price.. thanks!

Have you asked your doctor? My Dr was very good when I explained why I needed it and she put it through for me and didn't mention the IVF part, just that it was a routine check up on my fertility. xxx

I have and they said they can’t do it and would need to be referred by a consultant. As I’m going abroad I need to sort the test myself. I’ve not found them very helpful over here so far 😕

It's not fair is it, you're not asking a lot xxx

My clinic wouldn’t accept the AMH I had done elsewhere as they would only accept certain registered labs and required the actual lab sheet the results were on, which was harder to get than I thought.. ended up having to pay £90

How annoying, you'd think an AMH was an AMH no matter where you got it. We are having to self fund our IVF treatment so know how expensive and draining on finances it can be. xxx

Were self funding too, we just got to egg collection today and found out we need ISCI now too which is an extra £1200!!

It's never ending isn't it? I know it will be worth it and we wouldn't have it any other way but it can add to the pressure and worry. We have spent all our savings on this which is always at the back of my mind. We had ICSI after my husband having surgical sperm removal. He had a vasectomy 20 years ago and a failed vasectomy reversal 5 years ago so it's been a long and expensive process so far.... xxx

Whereabouts are you based? It’s worth checking with your clinic what units they want it in as some of the labs use different units (which can be converted but can make it a bit complicated).

I had mine privately in London so can PM you if that is local to you.

Unfortunately, in my area, GPs are not allowed to request this test.

We have had to pay for all of our treatment and my GP said they couldn’t do AMH it has to be specialist clinics. We ended up paying £90 in the clinic we’ve had treatment in 💗

I got mine done with medichecks. They send a finger prick blood test to your house and you post it back. Results within 24 hours of them receiving it medichecks.com/hormone-test...
