I been taken off the ivf waiting list .I Received a letter yesterday and I'm so gutted.I had q phone call last week and I was asked to come on the 16th to the hospital. I asked I'd I can postpone it to end of February becouse I just done privet ivf and its failed and I am mentally not in a good state to start again after 5 months of medication. Then I got this letter which so unfair that I never used the NHS service for anything.I am not sure what to do

I am so sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately this appears to be a rule in some parts of the NHS. It is very unfair. NHS treatment shouldn't be withheld from people just because they tried privately first. They wouldn't do it for any other health problem but they do it for infertility. I wonder how do they justify it.
Hi Doita85, did they make it clear they've taken you off the list because you did private first?
Hi Sharberthan.
Yes that's what they said on the letter.
I emailed them and I said it's not fair what they have done and there is no justice in this.
That is so unfair. With me I have already done 1 private round but I am now moving to NHS but they take the 1 round off my allowance. This is because the funding criteria changed in my area in the middle of my treatment.
Have you had a look at your local criteria guidelines yourself?
Hi Doita. Check with your CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) attached to your GP's practice and see what the rules are about mixing private and NHS treatment. perhaps you could try appealing against their decision to delete you from the list. We do have template letters on the website under funding, that you can fill in and send it off. fertilitynetworkuk.org Good luck! Diane
if the rules are you can’t have NHS if you’ve had private previously then I guess you’ve nothing to stand on, but I’m assuming you would have known this if it was an absolute no-no? If you got taken off the list because you didn’t want to go just that month and you wanted to defer then this should have been allowed: def do what Diane says and check their criteria and if going private isn’t on there then appeal.
