I cant really advice much but its definitely not low. Most clinics want it over 50 if you are on progesterone supplements. Mine was on the low side on transfer day it turned out it was 25 so I was given and extra injection, and I had it checked on OTD thankfully it went up to 52.
What do you mean your clinic don't want to know? You are their patient, they've carried your transfer and the progesterone test and they should discuss with you and reassure you when needed. Definitely you should try and speak to your consultant not because of the result buy because of their duty of care! They should be there for you when needed!
Thank you for taking the time to reply and huge congratulations on your news ❤️
So I think it’s 191 nmol/L which is possibly 60.1 ng/mL. It seems very high. But maybe not if your levels were 52 and okay.
So my clinic refuse to test progesterone. Like in any cycle. They have just prescribed 2 cyclogest and 2 lubion a day. My family doctor carried out the test. I’ve rang my clinic, spoke to a nurse who checked with the consultant and said absolutely nothing to worry about and those leaves are fine 🤯 this is the 7th embryo I’ve had transferred and I’m losing any sort of hope or faith in the clinic. I've just checked my results and the units for mine are ng/mL and my doctor was happy with is so should be fine for both of us I guess. 🤗🤗🤗
Its so frustrating isn't it 🙈🙈🙈 Sending much love, luck and positive vibes your way xxx
In all honesty I think they should give more attention to the progesterone at the end of the day its job is to help maintaining a healthy pregnancy ❤️
Thank you so much for the reassurance. My brain has been in overdrive today. I’ve felt really stressed and down.
I totally afree. My clinic don’t put any focus on progesterone at all, won’t discuss it and refused to do a bloody test to check even tho I’m private and paying. They say there’s not definitely rules and research around levels and if they do it it’s to difficult to translate results, also that levels can change so often.
Thanks again and good luck with everything 🤍 xxxxx
I think it will also depend on the units. Mine was 147nmol/L the day after transfer and clinic said that was fine. I am now 5 weeks.
Hi Ssteph. That is very high, so hopefully it;s not a sign of the lining breaking down. let's keep everything crossed that little one manages to hang on. Good luck! Diane
Hi Ssteph. Hopefully you can trust them and all will be OK. They want you to be successful too. Fingers crossed. Diane
My clinic tested mine on the day of embryo transfer. It was 166 and they told me that was great and so to just continue with the 3 x daily Cyclogest they have prescribed me they would test me again if I get a positive pregnancy test. I would ask to speak to your consultant in your circumstances and ask some pretty direct questions making it clear you are paying for this and therefore require some straight answers and reassurance.
your doctor should have advised you if that’s a safe level. The GP should know. When I was 7 weeks I was worried and they checked and mine was 52 and they said that’s fine so 191 is high and I don’t think you have to worry about it
my clinic also said progesterone can’t be measured properly but I can’t remember what exactly the doctor told me. I think it was something like progesterone in the womb is different from rest of the body and even if they measure, they don’t know whether it is the measurement of it being in the womb or the rest of your body… something along the lines, so don’t worry too much. If you have early bleeding or something just call them and maybe they will up your dose of progesterone medication. After the doctor gave some logical explanation, I stopped being worried about progesterone.
Thank you. Very similar to the explanation I was given. My consult said ‘do you really think if we though it’s made a difference and one simple blood test woule help we wouldn’t do it…!’
They simply won’t test! And the results I have from my doctor they told me not to give them a second though…!
