Legs stiffness and swelling after taking oestrogen tabs

Hello ladies, hope you are doing good.

Sorry to ask the similar thing but I am too anxious and emotionally drained hope you all will understand.

As the title suggests I was given oestrogen tabs for twice a day of 3 days and the thrice a day for 6 days but as i increased my dosage and approached day 4th of tabs my legs started to get super hard and massively stiff,it was so difficult to even touch and there was pulling effect as I if some rack of rocks were tied to my legs😬 and sometimes I would do toe walking too, phew!

So I went to my clinic where I explained all this to my doctor and I was done ultrasound to check for any clotting which came all good🤞

Then my doctor said that could be anything due yo intralipids which I only took once 1st time and also lupride injection which was again new but somehow my gut would tell me it was oestrogen tabs to which doc said it is suppose to make you feel good and skin goes even better etc but exactly opposite.

So I stopped taking the meds it has been 2 days now I feel a little better already also she gave me calcium tabs, now my real question is I was suppose to have transfer somewhere next week which is cancelled and would hopefully be in November.

Has it happen to any one of you,is it going to be OK,I beleive would still have to give me oestrogen hoping may be with some other tabs to avoid such situation.

In the end does everything becomes alright and will I be in goof situation to have my transfer.

Any suggestions/experiences would be welcome and appreciated.

P.S.- We are going to have 1st donor cycle so I am already tensed.🤞

Sorry for the long post and thanks for taking out time to read.

Hi Star3129, I am really sorry that you had to postpone the transfer and felt so unwell. Have you discussed with your doctor the possibility of a natural FET ? With a natural FET you don’t have to take oestrogen as the transfer is timed with your natural ovulation.

Thanks Habibi,i am going to see her next week then i thought of speaking about this to her.

I have a question when it is done in a natural cycle(fet) does the body makes enough oestrogen to help with the treatment protocol and safeguard the future pregnancy?

I have read some people going with non medicated cycle which has helped them but just thinking is it sufficient what body makes.

Hi Star3129, natural FETs normally work better with those who have a regular cycle as it’s easier for the clinic to predict ovulation. In terms of supporting the pregnancy, during a natural FET the clinic will be monitoring your lining to ensure it’s thick enough and OK for transfer. Clinic might also give you additional progesterone after ovulation to help further. In my case, my lining with a medicated FET was a disaster (it would not become thick enough despite huge quantities of meds), but with natural and stimulated FETs it was ok. Wishing you lots of luck

Thanks lovely 💕 so to my understanding when it is natural the clinic won't require ti give me oestrogen tablets?

Where are you in your journey sorry i haven't seen your bio.

Hi Star. If you have to have oestrogen again, perhaps ask about a blood thinner too as protection e.g. heparin. You might also like to speak about a natural transfer, if your own hormones are stable. Good luck! Diane

Hi,i was given baby aspirin and folic acid with it. When i ring my doctor she suspected of clotting and i went for ultrasound which was alright.

Then she asked me to stop the meds and take calcium and some carnitor which tends to drop in some patients.

She also said it could be water clogging/retention which i suspect too.

I also had intralipid and lupride injection once but somehow i knew it is oestrogen tabs.

I will also check for natural fet transfer as it could help the process normally.

😍
