Today I am 5dpt. Can feel my temptation to test pushing through! I know on the practical side of things it’s too early to test/ if I wait the result will still be the same long term to OTD!
My question is how soon did you start testing? And are you pleased you did or wish you waited? This is my 5th transfer! (2 blasts on board though so #5/6). Each time I’ve tested two days before OTD.

first time I bled at 9 days which clinic said was normal, second my progesterone was low. They upped my dose and gave me injections and no bleeding on next two rounds albeit positive tests but miscarriage and chemical. I think progesterone does keep period off if you don’t have a deficiency. Bets of luck for you!
Im an early tester here. But never before 7dp5dt. With my twin pregnancy, I got a very clear positive on 7dp5dt on a cheap €1.50 test. With my double transfer but only one stuck, i had a bfn on 10dp5dt but faint positive on 11dp5dt with CB test. She is a health 3 year old now. My attitude for the early testing was if it was negative, there was still time to change but also the seed was planted that it was possibly another failed transfer which took the sting out of it on OTD. Best of luck..the 2ww is torture. You're doing great.
Absolutely, we have all had to learn it in the early days. So, 7dp5dt is 7 days past 5 day transfer..as in the blastocyst was developing for 5 days before transfer. OTD is official test day that the clinic gives you to do your pregnancy test. Usually 14dp5dt so 14days/2weeks after the transfer. Hope I am explaining that ok.x
This is really interesting thank you! Why did the test go from positive at 7 days then negative at 10 days then back to positive at 11 days? Or were they different transfer cycles? Congratulations on your daughter 🥰
With my first 3 transfers I started testing as early as 4 dpt and I was a nervous wreck. Sometimes I would test twice a day, I was checking the tests every hour and getting crazy lines are lighter... With my last transfer in May I didnt test until the blood test on OTD and I had really calm and peaceful 2 ww. Im due for another transfer in 3 days and im planning on not testing until OTD. Hold on for as long as you can, trust me thats the best you can do. It will save you lots of stress and anxiety.
All the best of luck! Hope you share some good news very soon! And stay strong, wait until OTD 🤗🤗🤗🤗🙏🙏🙏🍀🍀🍀🍀🤞🤞🤞🤞❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I usually wait until OTD, could be a day earlier if it’s a weekend and I don’t want to go to work the morning of a negative test for example. The only other time was when I had spotting to check whether it’s implantation bleeding. But overall I prefer to wait until OTD to limit my anxiety levels. Wishing you all the best xx
I would never test early again. It drives you crazy analysing the line of you have a faint one, and crazy if you don’t either. Live in the PUPO bubble as long as possible as you still have to test on OTD regardless. And on OTD you can be proud of yourself for holding out. This is the only part of of the IVF process YOU have control over. Good luck to you xx
first few transfers I never tested early, but more recently I have …. It’s how I found out I had a chemical, which I was glad to know, so glad I did. But it does do your head in! 🤪 good luck 🤞💫🍀x
I guess the benefits of testing early is that you can see if it’s positive at least you know you’re receptive and they can implant? Obviously don’t want them to end in chemicals but it removes the question of is it receptivity or embryo quality. It must be reassuring to know your body can implant xx
Personally, I was in the wait until OTD camp and glad I did so, as it seems that otherwise, you could get caught up in the ‘line progression’ nightmare and also find yourself dealing with false hope or disappointment. Best of luck x
Thanks I’m definitely now feeling like hindsight is a wonderful thing! I’m definitely going to wait to test now again until OTD, as I feel like until then it could just be the trigger shot hanging about! X
