Hi ladies, so baby’s heart was 70bmp ( at 7 weeks) did anyone have this experience and the baby’s heart went on to get stronger? I didn’t book in for a re scan I know I probably should have, another question is, is having the scans safe? I have had a lot already and just want make sure there’s no radiation etc I forgot to ask when I was at the appointments 🤦🏻♀️ Xx

hi sorry we were never told the actual heart rate so I can’t help with that question, what did the clinic say?
On are the scans safe- I had quite a few (4 internal before 10 weeks) due to heavy bleeding and I asked this. What I was told is that they were safe but the thing they turn on in the internal scans to show the heartbeat (makes it show blue and red colours on the screen) they don’t like to do too much or for too long as it can cause heat in there so that’s why they only turned it out for a very short period of time but the scans are safe, and then when we moved to external at 10 weeks theres no worry at all of that and I had a scan every 4 weeks due to high risk pregnancy and then every 2 weeks in 3rd trimester so defo not an issue to have lots of scans xx hope all work out okay for you xx 💜
Hi Twiglet2, the clinic didn’t really say anything just that its low but then my consultant said they should have booked you in for another scan to check. Thank you I have already had 4 so far too and I’m 9 weeks I just didn’t know if I should have anymore and just be patient until the 12 week scan. My partner and I decided we should just wait until the 12 weeks and take it from there sometimes not knowing too much is better I think and then like you said it’s the external scans so a little bit better. Thank you only 3 weeks to go just need to keep myself busy 🥰 xxxx
Scans are ultrasound, so no radiation at all. Completely safe for the baby. Not sure about hear rates sorry x

Hope all goes well at your 12-week scan. There is a forum similar to this one now that you are over 6weeks pregnant if you are still looking for support.
