I tested positive for covid in June and had my egg collection july (so started next period). Consultant said they do offer a repeat sperm test if you have mfi but it didn’t hurt my partners count and we were doing icsi so wasn’t a problem! Best of luck!
Sorry, make factor infertility. Our consultant said we could have a sperm test if we wanted to but he wasn’t bothered and said it was our choice. We opted not to and had no problems. We both had it very mildly and at the same time. Hope that helps.
I've tested positive before my fet and I'm being told 2 months to wait. Its so frustrating as I've had to wait so much this year. A whole year of it! But what can we do. Hope you keep well, I'm just starting to feel better xx
I was told to wait for 2 months but if my husband had covid it would be a minimum 3 months as there is lots of evidence it affects sperm. We also did another sperm analysis 3 weeks before egg collection. Just to be sure it was still ok, more for peace of mind. Enough to be worrying about !!
Hello hun, will you be having a frozen embryo transfer? Or fresh? I don’t know about the guidelines if doing fresh as new eggs and new sperm is needed which might have been affected and rules might be different.
But if doing a frozen cycle you only need to prep your lining and no new eggs or sperm are involved so I think that is easier. I had covid (very mild) mid January, started my FET meds on my next period early/mid Feb and had the frozen transfer 4th of March. And currently 25 weeks pregnant. Don’t think the fact I had covid 3-4 weeks before starting my FET cycle had any impact.
But if in doubt, making sure you are in the best possible physical and mental state to improve your chances is not a bad thing of course. And sometimes worth a wait even if the waiting is so incredibly hard.
I would wait 3 months. A medical article I read said that the result of a woman having COVID during IVF was a reduction in the number of top quality embryos and it advised waiting 3 months. I guess if you are 46 like me or they are refusing to do IVF for you if your AMH declines any further you might decide not to wait the 3 months but I think otherwise it makes sense not to have a potentially wasted cycle.
