first pregnancy scan

Hi everyone.

I am due for 1st pregnancy scan at 8 weeks. I used to have the "usual" symptoms of pregnancy (cramps, fatigue) up to the 6th week. But lately, i don't feel the cramping anymore, its getting less and less which scares me, that maybe the embryo has stopped growing.. I haven't stopped taking my medications. I rang my clinic but they wouldn't do my scan earlier. Is it worth to get a scan at 7weeks or do I just have to wait.. Im doing a hpt which is still showing positive but I know its still not a guarantee. I worry too much.. I hate it.

Congrats on your BFP but so sorry you are worried... although I think its very normal. Its also really normal for symptoms to come and go.

I know a lot of women on here pay for private scans if they are worried and some just wait for their next one. You might find there are more suggestions on 'Fertility Network - Pregnancy Support' as that is a forum for women who have got pregnant via fertility treatment and I am sure there are a load of others on there really worried too and might have some tips for you. ah congratulations! definitely not worth an earlier scan, my clinic dont scan until 7+ weeks so they can make sure they can see all they need to, the last thing you want is an earlier scan to see no heartbeat as it's too early and give you even more worries. your symptoms may come and go as your body gets used to this and that. Medication can have an influence also. I know its a time full of aniexty but there really is nothing you can do to change any outcome so just trust in the process and you will see your babe in a few weeks. Might be worth hopping into the second stage group as recommended also for any questions now you have your bfp 🙂 xx
