4th failed IVF cycle

I have had four failed IVF cycles, one BFP but I bleed before OTD. I do achieve day 5 embryo of (not top quality) but good quality. When do you decide to take the donor egg route? I want to go for round 5 IVF but I want to do an ERA this time then what? Another round or donor egg route? Unsure… what would you do?

I’m in a similar boat to you. 4 failed ivf cycles (always get 1-2 blast, always good but not top grade eg 4BB, 3AC etc), all BFN. I had NK cells test before last cycle, came back high so need steroids (though it didn’t work for cycle 4).

Currently stimming for cycle 5. Our plan is to freeze all, do PGTA testing and then ERA. Hoping it will give some answers. I know there’s risks with PGTA but I feel I need some answers.

Anyways, I just wanted to say you’re not alone. What you’re going through totally sucks, but hopefully more testing should give you some answers. I hope cycle 5 is the one for you. Xxx

Thank you for replying Krystal_43, sometimes you feel like you’re the only one. Then looking around me I have a amazing husband and beautiful puppy. What else could I want in life? But it keeps me positive to try for another round. I’ve just had my post consultation appt it’s booked for 21st of September. The wait is unbearable. But it gives my body time to recover. I want to do another round and try ERA then FET. GOODLUCK in your journey it’s a long road but I’m sure we’ll get there xxxxx

I was just like you and decided to go for donor egg. Saying that , it takes some inner and mental acceptance.

I did not only put on the balance the money that I have spent and still needed to spend but also the time. So I asked myself, what was my priority.

After some meditation I realised I wanted to be a mum and not spending more time on the search of “ what other test and when is the next right cycle to do” so I went for donor egg in another country. I have to admit so far the experience has been just amazing, let’s see how it ends

Hi Sonisonix,

Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve since spoken about my post to my hubby and he wouldn’t not like to go forward without our own DNA and I’m respecting his wishes. I’ve also had my post consultation and Dr suggests donor route too. We are awaiting to start our ERA then hopefully another (5th) cycle early next year.

You’re right I’m mentally not ready for the donor route and since my post my sister has offered to be a surrogate with our embryo. So 5th cycle try again maybe 6th cycle surrogate? Just keeping it open.

I like your rationale, I just can’t get over why my body won’t do what it’s meant to. I hope it all goes well abroad for you, fingers and toes crossed. Wishing you all the best and baby dust to you x
