I just wanted to ask what’s peoples thoughts on double transfers. I have stage 4 endo and have my son from ivf frozen transfer. I have 2 embryos left, one 3Bb and one 5BC not the best quality and possibly my last shot so wondering if we should try transferring two.
I’m thinking if I transfer one and one sticks then great if two stick then great but im just unsure.
Also I wanted to ask if we have two transfers at the same time will they charge us twice or do we just pay for the cost of transfer?
Thanks in advance xxxx ❤️

I know what you mean - for us twins would be amazing but my clinic always drills it into us that the pregnancy would then be higher risk, which terrifies me. The cost would also be a massive struggle for us.
That said, we have done a few double transfers and it’s what we’re planning on doing with our remaining embryos. I look at in terms of our “hit rate” - we’ve transferred 8 embryos and are lucky enough to have 1 baby out of those, so transferring 2 is a statistical risk I’m happy to take.
Have yours been tested? Mine haven’t so that also factors in. Cost wise if you do transfer 2 you only pay for the same as a single transfer xx
It’s the same cost for a single as it is a double. I have twins from a double transfer and it’s amazing and brilliant fun and I’d do it again tomorrow (I do actually have 2 embryos left frozen) but I always say only do it if you are prepared emotionally physically and financially for multiples either twins or triplets. As much as I wasn’t sick at all during pregnancy physically It was very hard. We all nearly died when a placenta detached and my little twin has life long medical concerns which can only be as a result of being a twin .
Life is chaotic and busy and tiring but it’s also the best thing I’ve ever done x
I think the odds work out similar of having them both put back at the same time vs having 2 seperate chances but there are so many factors at play on those odds so quite unique to your circumstances. The cost however is defo different yoj don’t pay any more £ to have 2 at once. I have had both double and single transfers last time and this time round trying for a sibling. A double transfer I had chemical pregnancy and single brought us our son. One thing I would warn is my last fresh transfer last month was a double and when it didn’t work I was like ‘damn it I wish I’d only transferred the one now so I had an extra shot!’ Which is just me blaming myself I know (and if it has been 1 I would have said ‘damn it I should have transferred 2! 😂) but just something to consider xx
