What could the consultant want? 🤔

I’ve got my brain in a bit of a pickle and thought maybe you wonderful ladies could help?

Last egg collection we made 3 embryos and transferred 2 last month BFN. The normal process at my clinic after failed transfer is to ‘review notes’ which for me if I had any frozen embryos just meant that the consultant wrote on my file that I can call with next period to start FET.

The private admin side of my clinic is an absolute s@#tshow so I phoned up to pay for FET before my period arrives as it can take them literally weeks to take the payment from you and I nearly missed my cycle the last time and after a few days of them not knowing where my file was they have phoned me back to say my notes say I need to speak with a consultant about next steps before they can take any payments for anything? This is usually only on the notes when we have no embryos left?

What could they want? Has my last embryo not made the freezer? Do they think I need to do something different this time? I’ve had 2 FETs and 1 fresh transfer after the birth of my son and no one has ever mentioned needing to change anything from what was successful with him? 🤔 are they gonna tell me to call it quits? Clearly my mind is racing 😂🤣 got an appointment with consultant on Tuesday evening ..for what I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ any ideas? 🫠

It might just be a check in case you’d be open to tweak the treatment. You could have medicated FET and also change the treatment for that, or a natural FET, or consider any tests before FET… If you don’t want to change anything, perhaps insist it is not required?

Thanks lovely I’ve had natural and medicated but it’s usually up to me and I just ask for the one I want when I phone to pay 🤔 and my clinic doesn’t really do any of the ‘add ins’ so I’m just not sure what they can change with a FET really other than natural vs medicated like you said 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Probably just to talk about what protocol to use as there are a number of different ones, don’t panic! x

Yeah for an actual cycle I would get that different protocol they might want to discuss etc. but for FETs at my clinic it’s pretty much totally natural or down reg with prostrap as I’ve tried in vain to explore other options in the past such as natural modified but they just don’t do it ….I’m starting to think the admin side have just f**ked up again and it’s an unneeded appointment but it’s a few days before my period is due so hopefully if it is no harm done lol and she will just say ‘phone at next period to book FET’ xx
