Clinic question

Hi everyone I’m back again, now on our 4th round not going too well. I know we aren’t allowed to mention clinics by name so I wondered if people could message me please. I have low AMH and have got 4, 3 and 2 eggs on each round with 1 round being cancelled. My clinic are high dose stims I take 50iu buserelin and 450 menopur I just don’t understand the point in going so hard on the stims when I’m barely getting any eggs anyway. I just would like some recommendations on clinics that have a different approach or has anyone had low egg numbers and changed something and their numbers increased. We also have severe male factor infertility so we are battling 2 things that don’t go together so not getting far at all. Before we do another round I want to do a lot more investigation get consultations with other clinics and also have a consultation with male factor specialist, it seems crazy that we just go round after round without any further tests or investigations and it’s bloody expensive.

I live in north Lancashire, currently travel to Manchester for my clinic.

Baby dust to all

Thanks Jenny ❤️

What region are you in? That would help narrow down clinic recommendations.

Hi I’m on short I tried long once and the cycle was cancelled because I didn’t respond well x

Sorry I can’t help on the area. I changed clinic from long to short cycle and that helped but not in terms of egg numbers. My numbers went down from 9 to 3 but the quality must have been better as it was the successful round. I was also on high dose stims as I was 40. May well be worth ringing round though to see what other clinics offer. I asked my consultant about the ‘natural’ cycles that are advertised and she was not supportive. We also had severe male factor, I understand your feelings, it was a tough time for me, I remember it well. Good luck 🍀🍀

There’s a well known clinic in Manchester that only does mild ivf or natural modified IVF might be worth a look but it’s a gamble going low dose and low numbers of eggs when you have male factor

Definitely but I am only getting 2 or 3 on the high dose meds anyway. Maybe it wouldn’t be worth doing lower dose as you say I just feel like I don’t want to keep doing the same thing and not getting any further with things. It’s so difficult xx

Hi Jenny. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had such difficult rounds. My situation is similar to yours re male factor and low amh. I just finished my first cycle on long protocol, high stims and wondering the same as you.

It was suggested by the lovely people here to do some extra investigations before the next round such as dna fragmentation and I read on someone else’s thread that a site called fertysis Offers less expensive tests for things.

I’m early to this so I don’t understand it all yet but I just wanted to share my hopes that the next round goes better for you and you get some answers. ❤️

Have you always had the same drugs I.e the menopur across each of the cycles? Xx

Hi skittles yes I have always had menopur this is something else I thought about, maybe it would be worth trying a different drug, do you think this can make a difference? X

In my case I started off using Gonal F on long protocol and got no eggs. I was then on Menopur and got 6 eggs however I was also moved to short cycle so I don't know if it was the drugs that made the difference or the change to short protocol, or even month to month variance in the body. In your position I would be asking about altering the drugs unless the doctors have good reason for maintaining the same approach. Xx

Ha e you tried superovulation with iui instead of ivf? If you only produce 2-3eggs ivf is nor much use

We have to use ICSI due to my husbands sperm so IUI would not be suitable. Battling from both sides for us
