Thoughts on embryo glue? 🥴

Just wanted to ask what peoples thoughts are on embryo glue? I’m looking at a transfer soon with a 3BB which is one of my last two embryos remaining and on the lower end of the quality scale, I’m trying to make this shot as good as possible as it could be my last go. What do people think about using embryo glue. Is it worth trying it? Or does it not make much of a difference?

Hi , my clinic use embryo glue as standard . But from what I’ve read or been told by my clinic there is no real proof or data as yet to support that it really does make a difference. But it doesn’t do any harm.

I suppose if they didn’t do it as standard and it was a choice I would probably choose to have it . Just “Incase” x

Hi Faith ,I have had glue on all 7 of my transfers , last 2 did have a positive but ended in miscarriage .

The first five was an extra so had to pay for but now my clinic does this as standard so it’s included .

I’d say there is no harm in having it , it may work for you .

Hi Faith103,

I used embryo glue on my 4 FETs and it resulted in implantation every time - 2 were ectopic pregnancies so didn’t implant in the right place but the other 2 have been BFP! I know the data is still unclear as to the success of it and I can’t be sure if it was that or something else which made the difference but I didn’t want to risk changing what had worked before. Like others have said, there is no harm in giving it a try! ☺️ Good luck with your next transfer! X

Our clinic uses glue. We had it. I would probably take it if I had to decide. Just to know I did everything I could.

Hi lovely Faith, I used it on my last go so would recommend. My clinic now use it as standard and they are quite old fashioned when it comes to things like that! So it must be useful 🤔❤️ xxx

My clinic used it as standard on my FET - I only realized after as I hadn't read the paperwork properly... Anyway it said there was no definitive evidence that it worked but they felt it didn't harm so on balance they used it for FETs unless you requested not to. That one worked so I know it didn't do any harm and I'd had two chemicals before that so it's possible it had something to do with it. I'd opt for it again just to replicate what happened on the successful transfer.

Hi Faith103, I used glue only on my third and final round, and it’s the only one that implanted. I did also eat the McDonalds fries that time too 😂 and I was on blood thinners, so whether it was a combination of all of the above I don’t know? Made me feel more confident though x x x

So we didn't use it with out fresh transfer as we're advised we didn't need it, we got a bfp but it unfortunately ended in a chemical. For our NHS frozen transfer we decided to pay the extra, our thoughts were that we only had 1 more frostie left so we wanted to try all we could to make this one work, and for an extra £250 (I think it was) we thought that it might up our chances and be cheaper than a whole new round of ivf+icsi. We have a 2 year old from this. From our third and last transfer we also opted for glue as it was our last shot. I'm not sure if it helped or not as we got a bfp from not using it too but I'd like to think that it did x

Hi Faith103,My clinic uses it as a standard now even though it's no clear data behind it, like other girls mentioned already.

I had it on all my 8 transfers, but I was pregnant only 3 times (1 son and twice I miscarried). So unsure if it does work to be fair. If money is no issue for you I would go for it.
