Progynova side effects

Did anyone else experience side effects from Progynova? I take 2tablets twice daily so 8mg in total and I feel awful!

Headaches, sickness, heart burn and constantly on the verge of tears. I’m on my 5th day of taking them and have put myself to bed to watch Harry Potter as I just cannot face being an adult today. I’m also thinking the stress of a FET after our failed fresh is contributing to it all.

But wow I feel really poorly.

Hey there,

I’ve been on them for 14 days, and around day 7/8 I was experiencing really painful headaches and tiredness. They’ve since settled with rest and lots of water.

I think a fair few experience these side effects, but maybe mention to your consultant if you’re worried?

Lots of rest, and things like yoga and mindfulness to ease any stress as well may help?

Best of luck xx

I was on 3 tablets daily for 12 weeks and it gave me brain fog. I felt often confused and unable to focus. As soon as I stopped my meds I could think clearly again xx

Hi, I'm currently going through my first FET and failed fresh and I've found myself having cramps, heart burn and being a bit emotional on progynova. I also have a bit of a dread for the FET since the failed cycle but trying to stay positive. Look after yourself, good luck with the FET 🌠 at least there are enough Harry Potter films to distract yourself with I might have to do the same! X

I hated them too! Some days I was finding it hard to get out of bed due to brain fog and tiredness. I felt I needed to drink more water and be more conscious of eating well.. I think it made a difference but could be imagining it. I’ve never binged so much TV during my medicated FET. The day I came off all the drugs after it failed I felt like a different person. I’m saving up some good tv for the next round! Good luck xx

Hi, they are definitely giving me the brain fog that others are experiencing. I put the ice cream in the fridge last week and I can never seem to think of the word I want to say, or sometimes a sentence come out completely wrong!!lol

I’m 4dp5dt and felt particularly emotional today, my tolerance for anything is very low x

I have also been forgetting my words!!! I’m 2dp5dt so right behind you. This 12 day wait feels like a decade. 😫

I can’t stand being on Progynova. Some days I felt wired, some days I had the worst headaches and nausea. I used paracetamol to help with the headaches. Drinking a lot of water and getting in some cardio also helps. Things even out a bit when you start taking the progesterone.

Everything you are feeling is totally normal. I’ve been through 3 cycles of this so I totally understand. Good luck!!! You got this!!!

I agree with Murielsmom, what you are feeling is totally normal. I am also on my third cycle with Progynova and we never get used to it. First week is always the worst for me, but then the symptoms start to clear out and you feel like yourself again. Best of luck! 🤞 🍀

I’ve been taking Progynova since last Wednesday. I’ve never used it before, but found I’ve had slight chest pain on and off, heart palpitations, headache, nausea, feeling more tired then normal. I also ache, my lower back hip and should joints are aching - I looked at the side effects and I can’t recall aching being one of them. I also feel light headed, maybe that’s the ‘fog’ others are describing, it’s like I’m in a dream state

I've got everything you described! I even went to A&E as I thought I had a blood clot as that's a side effect. They couldn't find anything serious so I went home. Did you ever find out if this was 'normal'? x

No I’ve just carried on going! I’m 11+2 now, and I don’t have any side effects from the medication now x

Thats great news, congrats! This is my first cycle and I'm brand new on here so that's given me peace of mind. Thank you x

Yes i took them for an iui cycle before having my son through IVF in 2019 and was sick to my stomach also had bad headaches. Didn't like them. Luckily i moved to a natural FET ( ovulate on my own) and so oestrogen levels are ok. Is it a necessity you take them. Of course if i had to take them i would have good luck x

Sorry to hear you’re feeling so bad. I was like that on my last fet, nausea, heartburn, headaches, depression. This time around Ive made sure to take the tablets with food and it’s made the world of difference to my stomach. I’ve still got a wonky head but just feel so much better for doing it this way which has definitely impacted my wellbeing. I’m on 4 x 2mg a day so take a tablet with breakfast, lunch, dinner and a dry cracker at bedtime. I’ve also been doing daily yoga this time too which has also really helped. I have my second scan on Wednesday and hoping my lining is playing ball this time. Take care and be kind to yourself xxx

Rubber- don't even talk to me about this medication. I took it for 6 days and ended up in hospital!!! It started off with really bad headaches and constipation. Then my emotions went haywire and I started to get nausea and chest pains. I felt so unwell I had to go to the hospital as I thought I was going to have a heart attack. Obviously, I have stopped taking it over a week ago now but I'm still struggling with chest pain and constant cramp in my leg. I have hardly eaten for 4 days where I feel so wretched!! I don't know when I'm going to feel myself again. I can't bring myself to continue with the IVF if this is how it's going to make me feel. Good luck to you. Don't ignore the side effects. This stuff is not good for you.
