I know I’m connected with a lot of women trying to make ivf happen and I just wanted to add some hope for those waiting for their little miracle, especially those over 40.
Here’s mine. Alice Daisy, born 9th June at. 7lb 9 when I was 41 weeks plus two. Even the birth journey was hard. I went in for induction at 40+6 and after several attempts and complications at delivery of vaginal birth she was finally birthed by c section. Poor Alice was swimming in meconium and had the cord wrapped around her neck twice and under her arm so couldn’t get out. Had a struggle to breathe properly but quickly regained control of breathing.
I knew she was strong from the off- an embryo of cells as a 5AB and finally making it all the way through.
We will never forget the one we lost but she’s a shining light in our lives now. There’s always hope. X

Lovely news congratulations 💗 baby Alice daisy is beautiful after so much stress during her birth I am glad she is here safe & sound. Hope your doing well. sorry for your previous loss they will never be forgotten xx
Thank you. Since her birth it’s made me think of it a few times and how unjust the support is for women miscarrying vs pregnant and birthing mothers. At Xmas I bought a little star from Tommy’s for the Xmas tree so baby will never be forgotten xx but through stress and hard times comes beautiful hope xxx
I agree with that after going through loss myself , a special idea with Xmas star for your little one. Yes in darkest of times we always have hope !!! all the best xx
The anxiety I hear never ends from the 2ww to forever after. But she’s safe and sound now… just me that has to contend with the issues we encountered now 😂
Hi . Welcome to the world Alice Daisy. She looks fabulous. You are going to know love like never before. aaaaa's for Alice and a gentle hug for you. Diane
Congratulations! So beautiful. sorry to hear about all the trouble during the birth, but she is a strong one who was decided on meeting you and giving you trouble for the next 20+ years. So hearing is wishing you happy parenting. much deserved. 🤗❤️
Thank you! Yes, I actually got a lot of ticks against me purely based on my age, even though all the midwives didn’t think I was over 40 and I certainly didn’t feel like it when pregnant. It annoyed me a bit that there’s tiny increased risks that are taken as gospel for all. In the end I stood by what was right for me, not based on my age. And I encourage anyone else to do the same. Stats must be increasing for ladies over 40 and I’m glad I can contribute to that positive stat!
