I’m 35 years old TTC for 4 years - unexplained infertility
I am on my 3rd ivf cycle after two failed cycles, both of which I ended up with 2 blastocysts 2BB, 3AC, 2BB, 2BC.
This time I had 8 eggs retrieved, 1 immature, 2 didn’t fertilised, 2 fertilised abnormally, and 3 fertilised normally. 3 out of 8 is lower than my previous cycles
The other 2 are still ‘trying’ to become blastocysts but will know more tomorrow.
By the time I arrived to the clinic the 3cc had developed into a grade 4CC of which I had a fresh transfer.
The CC is very offputting and I wonder whether it would have even be considered for freezing if I had alternatives. Can anyone share any success stories as I feel I have completely written this cycle off already.
Thank you

I don’t have a success story but I do have a 4CC frozen from a previous cycle. I was told that it has a slightly lower chance of surviving the thaw (80% vs 98%) and about a 20% chance of success which is not nothing. People can and do get pregnant from CC embryos. I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant with a 4CA and I was not at all optimistic when they transferred because of the C in the grading, told myself the whole 2ww there was no chance but here I am. Good luck, I really hope this embryo sticks for you xx
Thank you so much for your reply. 20% is definitely better than nothing. They didn’t give me %, and just said it is viable and has a chance but Google is the devil!!Congratulations on your fab outcome also!! xx
These were the stats based on my clinic’s patient data they even showed me them on screen using the calculator they’ve built based on the results of the patients they’ve treated so I know it’s pretty accurate. Definitely step away from Google it is rarely your friend, this could be your chance stay positive 🤞🤞 xx
It’s easy for me to say but you have to remember an embryo grading is a point in time snapshot to help clinics generally decide which are the optimal embryos at that point in time. For example your 3cc was already a 4cc a little later. So it’s not gospel. Also I have to say I have been on here so long and I have seen a load of women not get success with top grade embryos but get pregnant with eg morulas which haven’t even made it to blasto by transfer. I know people who have had 6 transfers of all their good embryos and then got pregnant with their 7th with their worst.
You are pupo at the moment! So you are in with a chance and that’s the main thing! Everybody and every embryo is different
Openly I would have been chuffed with a 3cc that’s the second best embryo I ever got!
