Needing some positivity please ๐Ÿ’œ

Our frozen embryo transfer has resulted in a BFN ๐Ÿ˜” I've also been in so much pain on this cycle ever since the transfer. The nurse who did my transfer struggled to get the catheter into the right place so ended up using a firmer one, was quite a lot of poking and effort so I think I must be really bruised internally. I've voiced my concerns but they just went on the defence and said it was a successful transfer and won't have had any effect on getting a BFP.

That's two of our embryos gone with two remaining. Our first fresh transfer ended in an early miscarriage and now with this failed cycle I just feel so hopeless. Having a transfer again in July.

Anyone have any positve stories of pregnancies following failed cycles and/or miscarriage ? I really feel like this will never happen for us so just need a little hope...... โค๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’™

So sorry to hear of your miscarriage and unsuccessful transfer. I know itโ€™s incredibly difficult, but donโ€™t give up hope. You have two embabies left and there is no reason right now to think they wonโ€™t work.

Have you had your follow up? Ask your consultant what they suggest you do differently for your next transfer of anything? Are there any new tests you can have I.e., check your progesterone? Have a hysteroscopy to make sure your womb is clear post your miscarriage, take blood thinners to help with blood flow to the uterus?

I had two cycles, four transfers and two miscarriages before I got my BFP that resulted in my now 14 week year old twins. Iโ€™ve been where you are and at the time I also was struggling and felt like it was going to happen. To keep going, I made sure I was doing something different with each transfer.

Sending you lots of positivity and luck for your journey โœจ xx

Thanks for your kind message. My clinic haven't offered anything after my miscarriage. They checked my progesterone and I was taking Lubion injections so that was fine.

My consultant has been pretty blasรฉ about things and just said seeing as I got pregnant first transfer ,despite it not continuing, basically just keep doing transfers and if none of them work then they'll do some tests. Seems very unfair to waste them if something could be fixed.

I added baby aspirin just off my own back last transfer cause again my consultant didn't see the value in adding it. This cycle is our free NHS cycle so I don't feel like they care as much as they would if we were paying ๐Ÿ˜• Congratulations on your success!!! Thanks for sharing there is hope! Xx

I am so sorry your round didn't work - and for your loss as well. I know it doesn't feel like it now but a lot of people on here would read your story and think there is a lot of positivity in there - you know you can get pregnant and you still have 2 in the freezer.. it often takes 3 transfers or more to get the baby you have dreamt of and I see no reason why your next round won't be successful and I bet there are LOADS of people on here who have that good news story for 3rd time lucky! Take some time to grieve what might have been and then get back on that horse! Heaps of luck xx

Thank you. I do know we're fortunate having had a good number of 5 day blasts from one cycle.I think I'm just anxious cause of how the transfer went and the fact I've been in considerable more pain in the 2WW (even more than when I miscarried).

Think I'm going to insist they do a scan and maybe see if I can antibiotics before my next transfer just to rule out an infection xx

Oh sorry , you didn't misunderstand... I was also asking for some positivity too! Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š Xxx

Hi there, just wanted to say sorry for your difficult transfer.

Oops, hit return before finishing the msg, so yes sorry for your difficult transfer, we had a similar experience with one of our transfers and it isnโ€™t easy. We had 2 BFNs, 2 chemicals and a miscarriage. On our 6th transfer (2cycles), we have an ongoing BFP. Early days so I just wanted to say donโ€™t give up. Lots of lovely people here to support you.x I have stopped using baby asprin just due to haematomaโ€™s developing in both of my BFPs. Good luck for your future journey.xx

Sorry that this transfer wasn't successful and that it was difficult and painful (it doesn't sound quite right though so I think it's worth putting it in writing to your clinic, even if you are being told it won't have affected outcome as that's not necessarily the point). I had two early losses after fresh transfers and then success on our first FET - all within a few months - so there is definitely hope. I know how you're feeling though and it was really hard to keep on going and I hated the idea of 'wasting' embryos without knowing what was wrong or doing something different. Before the FET I made my consultant answer all my questions and walk me through all the tests and meds I might have been able to have as all I was being told was it was just numbers and I should keep having transfers without changing anything. I suspected I have a progesterone issue and although the consultant didn't seem too convinced, he switched me to vaginal pessaries and added lubion for the FET. I also added aspirin and took folate rather than just folic acid even though he said it wouldn't make any difference. It may have just been chance but feeling like we'd changed something and especially the thing that I had at the back of my mind was the issue, did make me feel that even if it didn't work at least we'd tried everything.

I feel like something still isn't right. Going to speak to the clinic tomorrow and ask for a scan I think.Congratulations on your pregnancy! I've heard about folate so will definitely look into it! I've been on lubion for both transfers so will stick with it. Like you I was convinced I had low progesterone so kinda insisted they gave it to me! Xx
