Do you have any history of genetic issues with your embryos? Our doctor advised us against transferring two because our previous pregnancy had ended late due to a genetic abnormality. He was afraid that, what if one was normal but one had the same sort of problem, which could mean I might have lost both babies. So that is something to consider. It could be safer for any potential baby to just implant one. Having said that though, of course there are plenty of twins that result from IVF.

Hi, we have a little girl fet she's 11 today. So this is our last go. Embryos are from the same collection, my concern is im 39 in July so my body clock is ticking. Just completed 14 days of estrogen back for another scan tomorrow. I had a hydrosalpinx so had surgery to remove my fallopian tube and lots of scar tissue from my previous caserean section. We are also self funding. Tia

If you are financially mentally physically and emotionally prepared for twins or triplets (I know just as many triplets moms from a double transfer as I do twin moms) then I would do the double. But I am biased as I have twins and it’s bloody amazing - relentless - don’t get a minute to sit down, no money and no sleep but I’d do it all again in a heartbeat

See what they advise? I was told that one embyro has the best chance so only done single transfers

It depends on so many different factors! We ended up doing 2 after multiple failed rounds and because they weren't the best quality. But both stuck (which is great!) so you have to be prepared for that.

I would see what they advise. As the embryos themselves are from your collection a while ago, they are probably pretty good and I do know that 2 x single transfers is meant to give you a better outcome collectively than one double (but it is more time and money). We had just reached the end of our tether and I wanted to go to another fresh cycle if the frozen didn't work.

There's no right or wrong answer though 😊 You have to do what feels right. xx
