Spotting

Hi ladies! You’re all so wonderful and I’m hoping I can pick your brains please! I have been spotting (light brown - sometimes a bit darker) since Monday afternoon. It’s only occasionally and I know spotting is ‘quite normal’, but it’s scaring me quite a bit. My second beta suggests my hcg has almost tripled since Monday so that’s good news but I’m worried about how long the spotting is lasting. If I wasn’t pregnant I would have had my period this week so is that a factor? Does anyone have any success stories for me? Thank-you!

Hello lovely. Are you on progesterone pessaries? When used vaginally, these can can cause irritation to the cervix hence the spotting. This is what happened to me! Stopped when I switched to the back. Xxx

Hi Hoping for baby. If you are using vaginal pessaries, it could be some irritation of the cervix. You could try using your back passage for a few days to give the front a rest. Make sureyou drink plenty of water in case you could be developing an infection. Any temperature, pain or smell needs to be checked out, otherwise the "old" blood should settle and stop. Good luck! I am having the same at the min and ironically only noticeable after I’ve put my pessaries in… I had a couple of ‘spots’ of pink/ red too as well. I hope it is the pessaries for both of us! x

Me too! I have an appt with my doc today so fingers crossed I’ll know a bit more. I’ve had this all week though, was hoping it would go away after a few days. The colour is still brown but sometimes a little more than other days so I’m worried about it even though everyone says it’s normal. Good luck to you fingers crossed it’s just the pessaries.
