I’m trying to get some stories positive and negative of ungraded embryos.
I had my egg collection last Wednesday where they got 19 eggs, 13 were mature and 8 fertilised. My partners sperm wasn’t good in the day so had to use ICSI.
I went in for my transfer today only to be told none of the embryos were at blastocyst stage so they could not grade them. She said 3 looked very close we will transfer 2 (which I was planning to do anyways so wasn’t a shock). I can’t help but feel a bit deflated as my first cycle I only ended up with a 5AB but it was a blastocyst and my second I got 5 4AA and 1 4AB. Out of all of them I’ve had 2 miscarriages, a chemical and one didn’t survive defrost.
Anyone have any experience with ungraded embryos. Im trying to find some positive but I'm struggling.
Thanks

I just did a round in Turkey and today was my OTD. I got a positive and my embryos weren't graded. I got two frozen on day 3 and 4 frozen on day 5, none of them were graded. When I've asked about grades doc said the embryos were good enough to be frozen and that's all that matters. Don't worry too much Hun ❤️ Wishing you best of luck and hope the 2ww ends with two beautiful string lines 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀😊😊😊xxx
I wouldn't worry, grading is only a point in time view of your embryos, often a 'close to blasto' embryo on the morning of transfer can be expanded by the end of the day.. you don't know what happens even 5 mins later. I have had morula (equivalent of day 4) embryos on day 5 and managed to get pregnant (although later lost it but thats irrelevant) and our ungraded on day 5 was a 'top quality' blasto on day 6 and is now in the freezer. Every round is different and maybe because this is different from your last ones this is the one that will give you your rainbow baby.. heaps of luck! xx
Hi, i think we are at the same stage. 17 collected on Friday, 13 mature and 9 fertilised. I was distraught when only 2 were progressing as they should on day 3, other 7 developing but very much behind where they would like. We are going to day 5 but feel that it may all be over before then. On the slight upside we have a sub optimal frozen one which will go back in! Wishing you all the love and luck in the world! Hopefully we will both come out happy in a couple of weeks xxx
Hi, I think it’s hard to predict because it’s always so different.
I didn’t have a good result with mine but that’s not to say you won’t. 🤞☺️
I had failed fertilisation in both first and second rounds of ICSI, so I think by time we finally got 3 fertilised on round three they were desperate to give me as much hope as possible 🙈. We ended up with 1 left on transfer day but it was slow developing so hadn’t made it to grading stage. x
When I arrived for fresh transfer of my only 2 surviving embryos on day 5, I was told that they hadn’t reached blast and therefore they couldn’t grade them. I was so upset but transferred anyway and am currently 27 weeks pregnant. I was told that actually this could be the best as they expand when in your body as if it were a natural conception !I assumed they were just trying to make me feel better but obviously it worked so I think they had a point.
These replies give me so much hopeI transferred an ‘ungraded preblastocyst’ yesterday and have no hope in it as I’m sure they just transferred it to make me feel happy as I have none to freeze
Hey! God that’s how I felt they just did it because it was something they could put back. Unfortunately it’s not looking good for me i tested today 8dp5dt and it’s negative. I very much doubt it will turn positive. I really hope in your case it does work!
