On the 21st I had my egg retrieval, got 10 eggs, more than expected, and the lab called us the day after to tell us that 9 fertilized! We were on cloud 9. 5 days later when we were scheduled for embryo transfer, I only had one ‘good’ blastocyst ready which they transferred.
7 embryos still alive, and they wanted to culture them until day 6 to see how many turned into a decent grade blastocyst.
We got 3 blastocysts on day 6, grade 4BB and 3BB.
My question is, are day 6 embryos as common?
We started out strong but I got a bit concerned with our slow growers, and only having 1 ready blastocyst on day 5.
Thank you for enlightenment ladies !

I had two day 6 blast transfer they were 6AC neither of them implanted unfortunately, the embryologist did say the success rate for day 6 embryos is lower as I'm pretty sure they should reach blasts by day 5 however the grading of embryos is all abit pointless as some really poor grades end up as in live births so it’s all abit of lottery tbh… looks like my 5AB and I had one other one which couldn’t be graded have both failed again so onto 3rd Ivf for a sibling..
After my ET I had 3 5days and 3 6 days. The 3 6 days just got slower to get there but at my FET the used the 5 day embryo and I’m two days into the 2ww. I agree with Tobytubs11 grades can be useless to really predict if an embryo is viable , my clinic doesn’t grade them it just tells you which they think will have the highest chance of success and put in order. Which honestly I prefer. It stops the obsession over grades and I attach a less expectation to it but that’s just me , some prefer knowing I’m sure. If it’s made it to blastocyst phase know it has the potential to be a baby so that good. I’m looking as that batch as fighters. They hung in there and are tucked in a freezer somewhere ready for a chance! Don’t worry too much about it . Everything is possible !
I’m so nervous. I did a cheapie test on 6 or 7 days and nothing but think maybe that was too early. I am praying and trying to tell myself it will be ok no matter what
I totally understand. When I first started out I thought the treatment would have been the worst thing and absolutely wasn’t it was the waiting at different points to hear on news. To me day 6 or 7 is early so until you get your Beta result you are still in. I have everything crossed for you. Will you get the results today xx
I will get them tomorrow. Going to test at 7 am. Thank you for responding and all your hopefulness!! I am so happy for you and cannot wait to be 20 weeks!! You must be so excited xoxo
I used the first response tests as they are meant to be more sensitive. Thanks lovely I know how lucky I am but the worry never stops. Until he is here I feel like it’s not real. You will get your time its just a case of weather it’s now or a bit later xx
I understand that the worry continues. My mom says it is just the beginning of a lifetime if worries haha 😆 I wish you the best and ease for delivery and beyond. So happy for you xo
Hi lovely, my 2ww was symptomless! The night before test day I get get very light brown discharge which disappeared after a few days and then it happened again the night before my 7 week scan but they said it was fluid and nothing to worry about. When is your test day xxx
