*sensitive* bleeding question

Hi everyone, sorry I know there's a lot of these posts but my head is spinning and I wouldn't mind a steer / comfort.

I'm currently 7 weeks and have my viability scan on Friday afternoon. But this evening (after stupidly carrying a heavy box up the stairs this afternoon - although I didn't feel like it was a strain) I've had some light bleeding. It started very light pink and now it's still mucusy and pinky-red when I wipe (a little on my liner). Sorry for TMI.

Only very mild cramping but I've had that throughout.

I'll tell my clinic tomorrow morning but can I please get some virtual comfort to help overnight? I'm guessing I just rest up for now and I'm hoping I'm fine to wait until Friday for my scan?

I'm also on crinone so I can't even switch to the "back door" like I would with cyclogest. I did have a crinone goop clear out this morning so perhaps I have irritated things? Warning - crinone is disgusting so do avoid it.

My partner is away for work until Friday so I'm really not sure what to do. If I tell him he won't be able to concentrate during his all day meetings tomorrow so I kind of want to wait until I see him tomorrow night.

Thank you xx

Ooh hun it is so stressful isn’t it especially if you don’t have your partner for support. Definitely call your clinic tomorrow and maybe they can bring the scan forward a day or monitor the bleed. Thankfully doesn’t sound like full on bleeding for now. It definitely could be irritation from the cervix due to the progesteron clear out maybe… If it gives hope I had 3x last week where I bled bright red blood, 1x came gushing out and still all was fine after. I am currently 6+3 so not as far as you but so far bleeding hasn’t seem to have a negative impact so there is definitely hope!

Good luck and be strong!

Thank you so much Riri, it's just so stressful on top of everything else. So your reply means a lot. Your stories definitely bring some comfort and hope though as I know you've since seen the heartbeat (yay ❤️).

If you don't mind me asking, how long did each bleeding episode last? Or was it just like one "gush" each time?

It's still light and pinky-red so I've got all fingers crossed it clears... It definitely comes out a bit after I move around so just taking it super easy now and WFH tomorrow.

Hopefully the clinic has some wise words, too! Eek

Yes the stress on top of everything is definitely a difficult thing to deal with but I like to think it will make us stronger in the end! Sounds like you have the right idea with taking it easy and WFH tomorrow. It also helps me a little bit (sometimes) to remind myself that there is nothing you can do, whichever way it may go. You can only send positive vibes to the little one!

My bleeding episodes lasted maybe 1-2hrs, generally bad gush when going to the toilet but not too bad in between. And then settled to spotting for half a day to a day but much less. So a bit different from how you describe it but hopefully as it is not dark red and you don’t have worsening cramps it is just the cervix being a bit irritated.

Hang in there!

Thanks again! That's all really comforting to know. And yes, it does help (a little bit) to just remind myself there's nothing I can do other than send positive vibes. Come oooon little bean ❤️✨

Hi lovely, I think the fact that it’s mucusy and pink is ok, if it was dark red and painful then it’s not a great sign (but still doesn’t mean bad news).

I had a haematoma at 17 weeks and it started off as spotting and just got heavier like my period would, which utterly terrified me. But it was fine.

It sounds as though you’ve just irritated the cervix.

Impossible I know but try not to stress too much this evening.

Hope all is ok tomorrow xx

Thanks Millbanks! It's definitely pinky-red but still light and mostly quite watery. But nope, no pain other than feeling a bit crampy (which is probably a bit stress related to be fair). So allll fingers crossed it stays that way and clears.

I remember your haematoma story! That would have been so scary 😥 If only our journeys were simple eh? The good news stories help even though I wish it wasn't happening to me. Hopefully I can add to the bunch though!

I'll try and relax and take it easy this evening. I know there's not much I can do other than that xxx.

Thanks again. Sending hugs to your wee bubs 🥰

I hope all is ok at your scan xx but it does sound like it could be irritation. Lots of people have had bleeds, particularly between. 5-7 weeks and it has not affected the pregnancy, so try not to worry hon x

Thank you, that's definitely what I'm hoping! My clinic were reassuring so that's good. And there seem to be lots of positive stories about people bleeding at this stage (although none of us need any more drama!!). The virtual online comfort from everyone is so lovely and was much needed x

Hi! I do understand what your going through. I've had a similar problem yesterday without lifting anything. It just happened. Try to stay positive even though it is hard. I've just spend all day yesterday in bed watching netflix and sleeping. I took the rest of the week off as well to rest. I know it is hard not to do stuff around the house but I decided I am not going to do much for a while. Goodluck with your scan tomorrow 🙏🏼🤞🤞🤞xxx

Thanks for your support. Yes, I saw that! I'm so sorry that must have been really terrifying seeing the clot. I'm glad you are also resting and trying not to do much for a while. That's definitely my approach now and that darn box is staying put at the top of the stairs where I left it...

Unfortunately, I can't take the time off work but do have tomorrow afternoon booked off so I can process whatever the scan brings (I had a blighted ovum found at my viability scan in August last year so I'm really nervous). Good luck and I hope everything goes smoothly here on for you, too!!! 🤞🤞🤞 xx

Good luck with the scan tomorrow! You must be so anxious! This is my biggest worry as well, but I have a long time to wait for mine. I hope your baby is ok and you will hear a strong heart beat! 🤞🤞🙏🏼🙏🏼xxx
